Salute 2016 – Part IV

A special highlight for the last part. What kind of a show would it be, without the Perrys? They were there themself, with a wide stand only covering their plastic sets (Dave Thomas takes care of their blisters at show - who was at Salute as well). The novelties were anglo-centric with the Cape Frontier Wars.

Right next to the Perrys were Renedra, who take care of the production of plastic kits for half the wargaming business. It was great meeting the family behind the company, so lovely people. They showed the new castle / tower kit, and it was selling like hotcakes. No wonder for me, look how impressive it is.

Wargames Illustrated hosted a re-purposed gaming table (terrain by TM Terrain, see page 80 of WI342) into the Northwestern Frontier about Saving Prince Kishan.

At such a show Wargames Foundry wasn't hard to find, along with their fantasy-spin-off Casting Room. I should visit them next time i'm around Nottingham.

Otherworld Miniatures took the chance to show their Dungeons & Dragons themed fantasy range. So many mobs, so many possibilities.

Gripping Beast was busy keeping the Saga-train rolling and with the next supplement as well as Swordpoint rules coming, they sure will stay busy.

At Victrix i met Nick from Northstar Miniatures for a quick chat, he himself was busy at the Frostgrave / Osprey booth. You can really see how he enjoys the game and its development, especially the international growth with the latest translations into french and german.

But Victrix had their own novelties, so beside the announced three iberian sets, the added the samnites to the releases as well. Unfortunately some products will only be available as direct sales, like the balearic slingers.

Sarissa Precission, partner in crime with companies like Warlord Games, added some more modern sets to their range. Might be handy in combination with Mantics Walking Dead or Warlord Games' Project Z.

A part that might be overlooked is the painting challenge at Salute. If you focus to much on the stands and tables, you might miss the painting area right in the middle of the hall (behind the info desk). And if you miss it - you really miss something. Supported by a small workshop area, the showcases were filled with lots of painted miniatures in all scales and genres. Was a bit crowded, so not easy to take pictures. But below i added a link to the gallery by the Warlords.

The final words and my personal haul from the show will be summed up tomorrow, thanks a lot for reading, come back soon and have a great remaining week!
