Crisis 2015 – Part I

Oh Boy! What a glorious weekend at the 20th (!) Crisis last saturday! Once again the Tinsoldiers of Antwerp invited into Hangar 29 for the '15 Crisis and i wasn't the only one to come.

As usual you get a nice goodie bag along with your ticket at the entrance, and the hosts take care of visitors and traders. Directly at the entrance you were greeted by two Cosplayers, the information desk (where you could buy limited button and waterloo chalice) along with the good organised catering.

In the first part of my coverage, i want to get rid of the bias, that the Crisis is only a trade show. There are lots of tables, and most of them are for participation / demo games. So stow away your wallet for a bit and get gaming!

Many of the tables hosted historic settings, like the Macedonian battle above, or the World War II and Napoleonic tables below.

Some had impressive terrain features, like this lighthouse (with working lights), or the snowy Bastogne table by the War Museum.

And from 40mm, over 28 and 15mm down to the small scales of Dystopian Wars, you could find large Battles and skirmishs.

Waterloo was due to the anniversary an often sight, above you see La Haie Sainte, but there was variation, like the Aliens vs. Predator, Naval or World War I tables below. There was even an Crush the Kaiser variant in Mexico, keep Fritz from the Tequila!

Such a show, offers some rare findings and sights, like a mint Mighty Empires box (all the miniatures in sprues!) and somebody checking their newly bought Titan for missing parts (that thing was huge!).

A table that caught my eye, was the Black Ops game hosted by the author himself - Guy Bowers. It is an interesting modern combat, using the 4ground pre-painted terrain of the middle east. I am currently awaiting the arrival of the ordered book, as i didn't had the chance to buy a copy at the show.

Now that you've seen some of the tables, here is the first cut and end of part one of my Crisis coverage. Hope you liked it and i could inspire you, to give the show a try next year or took a picture of something you've missed.
