Ford M8(a) captured vehicle and further winter gear

On the weekend I managed to do the last touches on the captured M8 Greyhound, named Ford M8(a) by the Germans. Applying the last few weathering bits and the fitting decals onto the vehicle.

I used the Decal Fix and Medium by Vallejo, quite easy to use and the results speak for themself. Some suggest that you prepare the area with gloss varnish, I just used the Decal Medium, placed the decal and added a few thin coats of Decal Fix to soften the edges. Later "protect" the decal with matt varnish (and it dulls the decal a bit and makes it blend better with it surroundings).

Rubicon Models SdKfz 250/3 “Greif”

Continuing with the Africa theme week, we stay with the vehicle kits, switch the manufacturer to Rubicon Models and take a look at Rommel's personal command car, the SdKfz 250/3 "Greif".

Rubicon Models released a broad range of armoured vehicles and added later conversion sets to some of them, to give them even more options. One of these is the command upgrade for the SdKfz 250 (Alte and Neu) and SdKfz 251 (Ausf. C and D) kits. In this case we're going to combine the SdKfz 250/1 Alte with the upgrade kit to build a SdKfz 250/3 in this building review.

Unternehmen Greif – Ersatz StuG

As I took care of the Rubicon Models StuG just a few days ago, I already mentioned, that I've been tinkering with that kit.

The next Bolt Action supplement, Battle of the Bulge, is just around the corner and we have a lot of winter troops around. I have a fable for captured vehicles and special vehicles, so I decided to build my winter germans around the Unternehmen Greif and one of the Kampfgruppe X-Z.

I already prepared a Panther M10, using the resin kit by Warlord Games and adding a few parts from the Rubicon plastic Panther kit.
