Micro Art Studio Wolsung Markets

Micro Art Studio, who offers a few sets of scatter terrain and sight-blockers, like the fuel depot, now added for Wolsung a few market sets. Of these I bought myself the spice and fish market, that are generic enough to be used for several settings, and I'd like to share them with you on here.

Both sets are set for 28-32mm scale, and are 20 Euro for the 4 spice market pieces and 30 Euro for the 5 fish market pieces. If you buy the fish market at Freebooter Miniatures, even spend only 25 Euro on the same set.

Let's begin with the first set, the Fish Market. It is a medium sized cardboard box, filled with foam pellets, so the resin parts are well protected.

Inside you find a set of 5, 2 large stacks of crates and 3 medium stacks. Decorated with fish nets, different kind of fishs and crab, and other fresh catches.

The second set is the spice market. A smaller cardboard box, filled with foam pellets as well.

The smaller set, only consists of 4 pieces of resin. 2 medium and 2 small sized stacks of crates, filled with spices and small fruits.

They are nicely sculpted, but the cast is solid medium quality. It is not bad, but not superb either, but it works as terrain quite well. There is a good amount of flash and a few air bubbles can be found on the surface as well as the bottom of the pieces.

For size comparison, a shot with a Freebooters Fate miniature. And in the second with some Ainsty Castings stacks as well as the ware piles boxed set by Micro Art Studio.

Micro Art Studio has a third set of golemic parts, with all sorts of mechanic odds and ends, but that only works with steampunk settings like Wolsung.

Conclusion
It is an interesting set, especially for harbour themed tables or in general, if you're playing Freebooters Fate. Quality is okay, but the set is rather expensive, compared to other similar products. For example the Fuel Depot available by MAS is much cheaper and offers a similar or even better amount of sight blocking.

That Freebooter is offering them cheaper is odd as well. And if you're good with more generic stacks of boxes and crates, ainsty castings offer a similar quality for a much lower price.

These markets are a good addition to your table and bring a bit of variation to your crates, piles of goods etc., so if you're able to get them at a discount, grab them.
