Star Wars Legion – Luke Skywalker

The Rebel Alliance Starter Set for Star Wars Legion is led by a Hero of the Rebellion, Luke Skywalker himself. This miniature is included in the starter set and is also available as part of the updated SWQ14 Heroes of the Rebellion Character Pack, which features Han Solo, Chewbacca, Leia and an additional pose of Luke Skywalker.

As with many of the heroes in Star Wars: Legion, there were multiple poses of Luke throughout the production run.

This pose shows him wearing the yellow ceremorial jacket from the end of A New Hope.

Like the other items from the Starter Set, the new Luke pose is a hard plastic miniature. With the update of Star Wars Legion to a new edition, more miniatures have been moved from spin-casted 'restic' to injection-moulded hard plastic and now come on a sprue.

In the case of the SWQ14 set, the new Luke model comes on a single sprue, while all the others share a large sprue. There is an option included for the new sculpt of Luke, but more on that below. The casting is very crisp, with only the slightest hint of mould lines.

Whether you purchase it through the SWQ14 Heroes set or the Starter Set, you will receive the unit card, along with some additional command cards in four languages (English, German, Spanish and French), and a 27 mm round base.

This pose of Luke Skywalker comes with a small decorative piece for the base, and he is depicted either with a clenched fist or holding a pistol in his left hand.

Star Wars Legion is produced in 1:48 scale, which translates to approximately 35 mm scale. In this case, as the proportions are realistic "true scale". In this set of pictures, you can see Luke next to other models from the Starter Set, as well as 32 mm heroic-scale Space Marines from Games Workshop.

Luke is shown in a familiar pose. He has one leg slightly raised, usually standing on some kind of rock or debris.

Conclusion

I must say that I like all of the new Luke Skywalker poses, especially the limited Snowspeeder pilot. However, as the 'Hero of the Rebellion', Luke fits the Rebel Alliance better than he does as a Jedi Knight, so this is a welcome update.

Assembly was quick and easy, with a clean fit. Although the recommended retail price (RRP) of the Heroes character pack is 69.99 USD, you get five heroes for a reasonable price per model.
