May 2025 review

Wow, okay, I felt like I just had written the April review and now I'm already writing the next recap.

Another busy but very entertaining month. In May we've been to CONflict Rhineland, and had a blast! I played multiple games, had fun in ancient greece as well as on the high seas, and of course with Deth Wizards.

It was great to see everybody again and it is sad, that it'll probably take at least until September for the next gaming meetup.

Regarding Deth Wizards, you can see the progress on the buildings and warband here. I am very happy about the results so far and the motivational boost due to the deadline.

In the week after the convention I had a few free days and watched Guy Ritchie's The Covenant on Amazon Prime. It's always a bad idea to watch movies with wargaming potential. This rekindled my need for modern combat scenarios. But I guess I can scratch that itch by inviting myself to Torsten instead of starting an army project of my own.

To get in the mood for Marvel Crisis Protocol, I watched Captain America - Brave New World and that did not create any reaction on my end. No tension, no further interest, just ... m'eh, I could have spend those 2 hours differently.

I'll be starting a new job in June and had my last day at my old company last week. And my (former) colleagues got me a really nice parting present, a Lego minifigure of myself. It has been an interesting 7 years, but I'm looking forward to my new adventure as well.

To clear my head until the new job starts, I packed my family and we went for a quick weekend trip to Antwerp, which you will know from my Crisis coverage. The city certainly looks different in early summer compared to the late autumn of November.

In the meantime I'm working on my backlog of reviews. Expect a few things from Asmodee / Atomic Mass Games.
