April 2025 review

In April happened a bit more than I anticipated. So let us do a recap.

I got lucky on one of my shopping trips and managed to get my hands on the 500E, which is quite sought after. This is not a treasure hunt and as I intend to repaint it for Gaslands, I don't mind the heavy glitter on this kit. I am just happy to have a more recent oldtimer for my German Gang in the game.

Right in the beginning of the month, we managed to squeeze in another event, that was not on our schedule at the start of the year. We did a family trip and went for Intermodellbau, the largest model building tradeshow. Our event coverage is split across two articles as we took a lot of pictures. Enjoy!

After Adepticon, Asmodee sent another few boxes of their main miniature games to us (after we got some items in March already) and those went right into the review schedule and are currently prepared for post-editing. We will have another set for  Marvel Crisis Protocol and Star Wars Shatterpoint each, along with terrain and a unit set for Star Wars Legion.

Over Easter I was a straw widower for a few days, as my wife took a trip with the kids. So I stocked up on caffein and some supplies and did some intensive crafting.

This meant mostly focusing on getting stuff done with the Deth Wizards terrain. I'll go into detail in articles of their own, but I managed to get a lot of progress done on the 8+ buildings, along with the scatter and one of the warbands.

And while doing so, I get a lot of the Horus Heresy audio books through, two of them were anthologies, covered a broad variety of short stories and individual insights. Along with giving further context or intros on some of the other story lines. Deathfire was a bit of a drag, but I'm looking forward to Pharos and having a bit of Imperial Fist worked in there.

As well as bit of binge watching. I finished American Primeval, which in addition to the rather mediocre Yellowstone spin-off 1923 (proper yellowstone with plot holes and plot armour...), covered my need for old west content (but I think I need a break from that era for a bit). Enjoyed a great 7th season of Black Mirror and really looking forward to the next season of Love, Death & Robots are seeing the wew Trailer! The first season of Common Side Effects was proper entertainment as well.

Due to the aspect, that I intend to dismantle the 3d printing setup, I have  a tight schedule of various scatter terrain things and pushed another few litres of resin through my Mono 4K.

I wrote a list of my 3d print backlog, covering Gaslands, Necromunda and various other small things, that I want to bring to my collection. I will have to check up on my retro-stuff and see what kind of spare parts I need, that I can print up some arms, shoulder pads and weapon bits.

May is going to be interesting, as we will go to CONflict, will cover the reviews we've teasered above and might get one of the new format battle reports in. We'll keep you updated.
