Konflikt 47 – Autoblinda Captured Vehicle

Holey Kamoley, it's been a while since I sat down for K47. Luckily, when I looked at the army lists, I noticed that the Commonwealth has now integrated the royalist side of the Italians, which somehow makes sense to me in terms of fluff, since the equipment is mostly British anyway.

So I quickly checked what I had at home for Konflict 47, and apart from an officer's staff in Galahad armor to lead my troops, I have everything I need. Well... everything, if I make a few adjustments...

For example, I once managed to pick up this Italian Autoblinda at Ad Arma Con for ten bucks. Originally, I just wanted to use it to build some scenery, and I had to repair a few cracks, like this broken fender, but now the car is set to take the place of the Humvee in the army.

At K47, the British replaced their heavy losses with AI-controlled units. The Humvee is essentially an unmanned, light armored vehicle with two light machine guns. The Autoblinda, a converted captured vehicle, also fits into this picture quite well. To represent this, I removed some of the rivets on the vehicle, which made the overall appearance appear lighter. At the same time, this had the pleasant side effect of creating surfaces that were easier to paint and making room for small modifications.

To represent the light twin machine guns, I used the light MGs from the Gaslands sprue. However, I find them a bit bulky, so I'm still undecided as to whether I might replace them with a slimmer version.

I had various thoughts about the rift technology. On the one hand, I thought that the car must have been crammed full of old computing technology, which was simply bigger back then than it is today. So I put a small technological something on the back of the tower, which I will try to paint with a glowing effect.

However, it looked rather modest on the model, so I quickly glued a coil onto the tower. I also added a coil to the engine compartment to represent the rift drive, and with a little paintwork, it should look quite good overall.

All right, just need to assemble a few more Bersaglieri, then the army will be well on its way.
