KRYDRUFI All-in-One Modular Art Box
I came across the All-in-One Modular Art Box by Krydrufi a while ago, and, in preparation for my travels this autumn and winter, I decided to take a closer look at it. So, let's take a look at this product all together.

This painting accessory is a modular tool that covers multiple items. It is available in different tiers, ranging from basic to ultimate. The basic tier starts with the Cleaning and Brush Holder module, which can be configured with additional optional wet palette and storage modules. For this review, we have the Ultra Set, which includes four additional modules. Prices range from 25 to 43 EUR.
The Art Box is available in two colours: light blue/black and green/black. The contrasting colour is used for the large container and the lids of the paint storage modules.
Once you open the package, you will receive a link to the user manuals, as well as a customer promise. Inside, you will find the moulded plastic pieces, as well as a smaller box containing additional materials for the wet palette. This consists of two sponges and 50 sheets of wet palette paper.
The measurements are quite compact, making it ideal for travel or mobile setups: it is about 18 cm high and wide, and around 9 cm deep.
The top compartment is the Cleaning and Brush Holder module, consisting of two containers inside a larger container with a divider and a handle. These contain two types of brush holders, as well as structured silicone inserts for the water containers to improve brush cleaning. The brush holders are made of silicone and can hold brushes of different sizes and shapes. They can hold regular brushes and larger dry-brushing ones with no problem.
We have two additional wet palette modules, which could also be used for storage. These can be connected side by side using the clips/hooks attached to each module. The modules come with metal clamps to hold the wet palette paper down onto the sponge. These are removable in case they are not needed. The second container can be used for storage.
The second type of module is designed for storing paint. This might be useful for painters and artists who use larger volumes of paint, for example if working on a canvas, but it's not really something I would use for miniature wargaming. I can see the benefit of this if you work with 80–200 ml paint tubes and a certain palette, but if you work with 12–18 ml pots and dropper bottles, refilling them into this isn't ideal or at least not a use case for miniature painting.
As you can see from the picture, I used these for bits and other items. You can put a small bottle of glue, Blu Tack, green stuff, ball bearings for your paint pots, etc. in there.
I tried putting brushes inside the containers. This does not work with all of them. You could transport them in the clamp/brush holders, but that would increase the volume of the art box. Otherwise, since you would also be transporting the paint bottles, it would be best to get a small pouch for the brushes.
The entire set is modular and can be clipped into the configuration you need. Compartments of different sizes would be a useful addition (for example higher ones for storing larger items like dropper bottles or glue).
I put the Art Box to the test on my last holiday, adding a cutting mat and small lamp. I set it up on a small desk in the holiday apartment and got around to doing some painting. It worked perfectly for the intended purpose.
Conclusion
If you compare the price of the Art Box and its variants with that of for example the combination of the Army Painter Wet Palette (~27 EUR) and a Citadel Water Pot (~8,50 EUR), you will see that they are in a similar price range. This is why I think the pricing of the Modular Art Box is reasonable.
Do you need this if you have a fixed, dedicated workstation? Probably not. However, if you don't have that and use a mobile setup that you need to move around your home or take with you when travelling, it's certainly worth considering. As mentioned above, I took it with me on holiday with my family. It didn't take up much space in the luggage, and I am going to take it with me to the Paint Meetup in November. I can also see myself using it on medium- to long-term business trips, as it is handy and helps to reduce clutter. The water pots nest within the larger organiser, which is practical, and you can connect the modules side by side to avoid slipping or involuntary movement. We used to have regular paint meetups at our local store, and I see this as a staple item for such scenarios.
The quality of the set is excellent. There are no sharp edges, no smell, no mould lines and no problems with the plastic. Just make sure to handle the wet palette properly, as you would with products from any other manufacturer, to avoid mould. Krydrufi covers this in their user manual. The clips take a bit of getting used to as they clamp tightly (you don't want to lose the lower modules), but that's only something you have to do once per setup, so it's less of an issue for me. Besides that, these feel like they are properly produced and shouldn't wear out with regular usage. I am also sure that Krydrufi will keep their promise regarding customer service, if you come across any problems on that part.
Cleaning up is quick and easy: simply rinse out the water pots and rubber inserts. If you want, add some dish soap and let it dry, or if you're in a hurry, use a towel. It's quick and easy.
