P-P-P-P-Plastic!
Clipping parts from sprues, getting rid of mold lines and assembling them. Busy, busy. I built the Universal Carrier and the Panther Ausf G from Warlord Games yesterday for upcoming reviews, along with the Warzone Starter of the Brotherhood.
The Worlds Aftermath
Where do we beginn? Let's do a sum up.
The Worlds Weekend was great. Chapeau! to the traders that participated and offered their goods for nice prices. I took the chance got myself some treats. Ainsty Castings Resin parts, a few Lord of the Rings blisters (what for? you will see...), Saga Dice, the new Saga Crescent & Cross Rules and the nice ruler from the Worlds Saga Tournament. Bäm! Oh and i got the Leopard 2A6 from Empress Miniatures at the Worlds!
The Worlds 2014 – Day 3
The final day of The Worlds, Sunday. A new trophy was seen next to the others, a nice little Diorama.
The Worlds 2014 – Day 2
Saturday, the second day of the Worlds, the action was fully loaded. The last participants arrived and all of the traders had their booth build up. On this day the Warhammer Ancient Battles Tournament started and that's where we want to pick up the coverage.
The Worlds 2014 – Day 1
I collected the impressions from the Worlds in 3 separate articles, each covering one of the days.
On the weekend from the 15th to 17th August the world championship in historical wargaming were held in Koblenz, Germany, among other systems Field of Glory was played. The host of this event was the KoMiCon, and the location was the freshly renovated Rhein-Mosel-Halle. As the parking lot was moved underneath the hall, we can't delivery parking lot pictures as usual to the regular guests.
In total there were 106 players from 14 countries playing in 6 different gaming systems.
Worlds, World Wars and Resin
Doing some errants after work. Just took delivery of my latest order. No nothing tabletop related, well, not directly. A new lense for my Canon, the EF 50mm f/1.8 II. Quite a plastic bomber, but well we will see what it brings.
But let's get back to the wargaming topic. First announcement, I'll be participating at the Worlds 2014 (historical wargaming world championship) Saga Tournament, as a stand in player at least for the first day. Looking forward to it.
I did order a small package at Warlord Games during the historicon, to buy one Dick Winters which was available for a limited time. But i didn't want to put the shipping costs to waste, so i added a little something to the order. The stone walls, Patton, a SAS section, some wehrmacht bits and a squad of wehrmacht soldiers with IR rifles.
Painting Buddha Vol 1.1 Target Identified
Painting Buddha starts up the next Volumes of their painting tutorials and for me it is about time, to show you the first Volume, “Target Identified”.
Yesteryear and far future
Matchbox started the "Models of Yesteryear" Range in 1956, a larger 1:43 Scale Range made for collectors. This range is heavily focussed on vehicles from 1910 - 1930. A perfect source for World War 1, Inter-War, World War 2 und Pulp Settings, either as terrain or actively used as car pool.
SCW and Survivors
I had to take a longer break, as my health forced me to re-arrange my plans of the last weeks.
The work on Bolt Action continued and i pursued the concept of my spanish civil war army for early war. I converted the acw zuaves from the perry twins into moroccan mercenaries for my spaniards. Just some weapon conversions missing.
Long Weekend Ahead
Was there really no update since the 1st May? It's about time for a new post then. A few packages arrived and i'd like to share with you, what i got and what interesting things are available.
Let's start with some hobby products, colours. I got myself some primers from Vallejo for the Bolt Action stuff. The us vehicles may get excited about the olive drab. And all of the tanks will be happy about AK Interactive, along with the black paint set, not just for the tank crews, very usefull for Infinity Templars etc. as well. There will be more coverage on those upcoming.
