Warhammer 40,000 – Dark Angels Grand Master of the Deathwing Belial

Last year Supreme Grand Master Azrael got the Primaris update and Lion El'Jonson returned to the 40th millenium as well. This year with the new Dark Angels codex and a fitting Deathwing themed box, Deathwing Assault, the Grand Master of the Deathwing, Belial returns with an updated model.

The old model was released in 2013 as a finecast (a spin cast resin used by Games Workshop to substitute metal, when the raw material gow more expensive and the updated their process in production) kit and among the taller heroes when it was released. Now it is time for another increase in size, to fit with the new larger Indomitus Terminators.

Warhammer 40,000 – Deathwing Assault

The 1st Legion returns with their updated 1st company, the Deathwing Terminators under the command of Belial. While we already had a rather Deathwing heavy boxed set last year with Wrath of the Soul Forge King, bringing a lot of the 2013s Dark Angels Terminator sprues into circulation once again - only to be completely out of scale with the release of the new Terminator models of Leviathan - now the updated and upscaled Deathwing Knights are part of the Deathwing Assault, which we're going to take a look into today.

Deathwing Assault is a themed army boxed set, covering a battle force of Dark Angels (or its successor chapters) 1st company Terminators, including Belial as a character and the current rules, covering the Codex Supplement and Data Cards for the Dark Angels as well.

Warhammer The Old World – Kingdom of Bretonnia Battle Standard Bearer on Royal Pegasus

And after covering the two heroes from the plastic sets, let us take a look at only new plastic hero, as the other new additions are made from Forge World resin - the Battle Standard Bearer on Royal Pegasus of the Kingdom of Bretonnia.

Initially I thought this would be built from the Duke/Baron kit, as they have the same mount. This is something that Games Workshop did in the past, have dual character sets of mounted and unmounted heroes, usually including banners, for example with the Empire General or High Elf Noble. But that was a misconception, this is just the Banner Bearer.

Warhammer The Old World – Kingdom of Bretonnia Duke on Royal Pegasus

The second new hero from the core sets of the Warhammer The Old World range is the combined Duke / Baron on Royal Pegasus from the Kingdom of Bretonnia set.

Just like the Necrolith Bone Dragon This model is currently only available as part of the starter set and will be released on January 20th as well.

There are minimal pictures of the baron variant of this kit. In the beginning I thought that the Battle Standard Bearer and Duke/Baron would be one kit, but they are two different sets. More on that further below. While we do not have a price for this model, it is very likely it will cost the same as the Battle Standard Bearer on Royal Pegasus, which is 55 EUR RRP.

Warhammer The Old World – Tomb King of Khemri High Priest on Necrolith Bone Dragon

This model is currently only available as part of the starter set and will be released on January 20th.

Warhammer The Old World – Kingdom of Bretonnia Unboxing

We've talked about the upcoming Warhammer The Old World Pre-Order last Monday and today the vast list of items is ready to order, with delivery on January 20th (so in 2 weeks' time). As you might know, this new game won't come with a classic two army starter, but army bundles that include the new rulebook as a hardcover, and for the release there are two sets, the Kingdom of Bretonnia and the Tomb Kings of Khemri. We're going to cover both of them today, and start with the Kingdom of Bretonnia.

Warhammer The Old World - Kingdom of Bretonnia

This is the cheaper one of the two and costs 206 EUR / 155 EUR, with a total of 76 miniatures. It is available in English, German and French.

It is a huge, stable box set with glossy prints on all sides. You can see the back below, and the lower part shows two of the painted units, the Men-at-arms and Knights of the Realm. As you can see, the Bretonnians look more uniform than they looked in "regular" Warhammer Fantasy. They go into detail on this in Warhammer Community and to a certain degree, this is the fantasy-counter-part of the pre-heresy paint jobs of some of the Legiones Astartes.

Bolt Action Panzer IV Ausf. B/C/D

It has been a while since the last world war tank reviews, especially in plastic, and today we cover the Panzer IV Ausf. B/C/D by Warlord Games in 28mm / 1:56 scale. This one is released about 8 years after the Panzer IV Ausf. F1/G/H plastic kit.

Bolt Action PzKpfw IV Ausf. B/C/D Bolt Action PzKpfw IV Ausf. B/C/D

This kit marks the middle between the Panzer III and later variants of the Panzer IV. To be honest, I am a bit surprised, that we actually saw this one, especially with the inclusion of the Ausf. B and C, as they saw minor alterations to the hull, but were not produced in larger numbers and don't have any different rules than the Ausf. D, and even of that one only about 250 units were produced between 1939 and 1941. To put this into perspective, the Panzer IV was built 8,500 times in total, which is still far less than the 34,000 units of T34/76 or 50,000 units of M4 Shermans built in the same period.

Bolt Action SdKfz 250/1 250/4 and 250/7 variants Ausf. A

This is the third time we're covering the Sd.Kfz. 250. Warlord Games released a base kit and covers the variants with small, additional sprues, and while we had the /3 leichter Funkpanzerwagen and /10 leichter Schützenpanzerwagen (3.7 cm PaK), as well as the /9 leichter Schützenpanzerwagen (2 cm) and /11 leichter Schützenpanzerwagen (schwere Panzerbüchse 41) variant, today's review will be about the new Sd.Kfz. 250/4 leichten Truppenluftschutzpanzerwagen and /7 leichter Schützenpanzerwagen (schwerer Granatwerfer).
