Crisis 2019 – Part I

Not the usual first weekend in November, but the second was the date for Crisis this year, due to the holidays and a Halloween Party at the Waagnatie. So Crisis 2019 was held on the weekend of November 9th in Antwerp.

Clear blue sky over Flandern. My 7th Crisis and Dino's first one, so headed over to the show and were excited about this years tables, offers and novelties. We were there a bit early, so we got lucky in the parking lot and the queue.

The early bird catches the worm, so we went straight to the bring & buy in the back of hall 2. Very broad offers, from terrain, to complete armies in different scales and to my delight, quite a bit of oldhammer stuff - at reasonable prices. As I wasn't able to go to the second Puppenshop(p)en the week before Crisis, I was really looking forward to do some browsing.

At 10 a.m. the show officially started and the visitors got the show bag handed. Catering is to the right, a few Cosplayers and a first view on to trade stands and gaming tables.

We headed over to Dave Thomas, who carries the broad range of Perry Miniatures metal blisters at shows, along with a huge selection of plastic kits from Perry, Gripping Beast, Victrix and others. And as Dave works with North Star as well, they had the Gaslands novelties and a special package from Nick for us, an early samples of the Frostgrave Female Wizards.

I had heard of Mana Press and their games, but I was quite surprised to meet the duo from Australia and New Zealand in Antwerp, as it is quite a travel to Antwerp. They had a participation table for Maximilian and Tribal, using models by Eureka Miniatures. In Europe you can get the books via North Star and Eureka is available at Salute / through Eureka UK.

The Tabletop Nerdz Mainz brought their Asterix Table (already displayed at Tactica and Ad Arma) to Antwerp.

Van Dyck Miniatures covers 10mm miniatures and added world war 1 to their ancients, incl. a participation table with a scenario fought in Belgium in 1914.

The Militia Brabantia hosted a very elaborate Frostgrave Ghost Archipelago table, with multiple islands, boats and ships, wild life and everything you would think of in a pirate theme.
