Bolt Action Campaign Sea Lion

The second campaign supplement for Bolt Action Second Edition leaves the road of historic events and goes for the What-If scenario of the Operation Sea Lion. These were the plans of the german forces to invade Britain.

Bolt Action - Operation Sea Lion

Sea Lion is another big expansion for Bolt Action, at least page-wise. At 124 pages it shares the lead with Battle of the Bulge. After covering the desert of Africa, the harsh winter of the Ardennes and several parts of the western front, the battle is brought "home" with Operation Seelöwe / Sea Lion. The operation was real, but never came to existence. There were severe plans by the Nazis to invade Britain in 1940, but the plans were never moved to realisation. This campaign book is set at the new price range of 19,99 GBP or 30 USD, which translates around 25 EUR.

A Tour of Hobbiton – Movie Set Tour 2017

This article is for the terrain builders and Lord of the Ring enthusiasts. First proper one about the trip to New Zealand, so enjoy!

After we arrived in Auckland, our first stop along our route through the Northern Island of New Zealand was near Matamata, in Hobbiton. While driving through Waikato we already got the "shire vibe" and half an hour before arriving there, you already knew - this must be the place. It was cloudy at first, but it brightened up during the day.

Made-to-Order Blood Bowl Halflings

In late June, just before my vacation, Games Workshop announced another wave of made-to-order Blood Bowl teams on Warhammer Community, among them the Halflings.

Blood Bowl - Halfling Team

Games Workshop would offer the 3rd edition Blood Bowl Team of Halflings from 1994 for a week. It was sculpted by Gary Morley back in the day (I thought those were done by the Perrys, as they took care of the halflings for the regular Warhammer range) and the miniatures aren't bad for a set of more than 20 year old sculpts. They added the cook from the halfling hot pot catapult as the special staff to this team. That guy was sculpted by Alan Perry.

Bolt Action Campaign Battle of the Bulge

The first campaign supplement in the new edition is Battle of the Bulge, the battles in the last winter of world war two.

Bolt Action - Battle of the Bulge

Along with Duel in the Sun this is the thickest campaign supplement for Bolt Action at 124 pages. It covers a specific campaign instead of an area, therefore the scenarios etc. are pretty much following each other. The book covers 12 scenarios, an army list for the free french and special rules for the fierce winter situation in western europe. Pricing is set at 19,99 GBP or 30 USD, which translates around 25 EUR.

AK Interactive Agitator Balls / Stainless Steel Shakers

As I am currently working on a few historical projects, and therefore using paints from brands like Vallejo and other companies that use drop bottles instead of pots, I ran out of agitator balls.

What are agitator balls? They are small metal balls that are put inside the drop bottles and help stir the paint. I used to use the ones from PK Pro, but got myself some from AK Interactive during my last shopping at Radaddel.

For 5 Euros, you receive 250 steel balls, which is a pretty good price (PK Pro charges 7,95 for 150 balls). They come in a small bottle with screw top as you can see.

Oathmark Dwarven Infantry

A bit out of nowhere and unexpected, Osprey Games and North Star Military Figures announced a new range of fantasy plastic miniatures, under the label Oathmark - Battles of the Lost Age, beginning with a set of dwarven infantry. This range will be released later this year, but as a special for Salute 2017, there would be a pre-release of single sprues.

Osprey Games - Plastic Dwarves Osprey Games - Plastic Dwarves

The sprues were sold at 5 GBP each, so I assume a later box price of 20 GBP for a box of 20 (similar to the Frostgrave plastic pricing). I was able to get a sprue at Salute, and want to share my impression with you in this brief review.
