Konflikt ’47 – House rules for Löwe Project Fenris

With the progress of the kickstarter campaign of Panzerdivision Cerberus one of the stretch goals was presented, the Löwe tank with a Sci-Fi / Weird War weapon set. But as this would be not just a stretch but simply not fitting most World War 2 settings, I didn't write house rules for Bolt Action but rather Konflikt '47 for this unit.

Enjoy!

Ambush Miniatures - Panzerdivision Cerberus Panzer VIII Löwe Project Fenris

Panzerkampfwagen VII Löwe Project Fenris

The Panzerkampfwagen Löwe was one of the more ambitious German heavy tank projects of the war, envisioned as a breakthrough vehicle with exceptional armour and heavy armament. Various proposals were made for the design, ranging from a somewhat lighter version to an even more heavily protected super-heavy concept. Had it been built, the Löwe would likely have been used much like other German heavy tanks: as a fearsome assault vehicle intended to smash through enemy positions and challenge opposing armour head-on. But whispers spoke of an alternative weapon developed for the Löwe. Not simply another gun, but something far more experimental. A weapon based on a completely new and untested technology. Project Fenris.

Reports are scarce and often contradictory. Some describe devastating battlefield performance, while others claim effects that seem almost impossible to explain.

Konflikt 47 – Autoblinda Captured Vehicle

Holey Kamoley, it's been a while since I sat down for K47. Luckily, when I looked at the army lists, I noticed that the Commonwealth has now integrated the royalist side of the Italians, which somehow makes sense to me in terms of fluff, since the equipment is mostly British anyway.

So I quickly checked what I had at home for Konflict 47, and apart from an officer's staff in Galahad armor to lead my troops, I have everything I need. Well... everything, if I make a few adjustments...

For example, I once managed to pick up this Italian Autoblinda at Ad Arma Con for ten bucks. Originally, I just wanted to use it to build some scenery, and I had to repair a few cracks, like this broken fender, but now the car is set to take the place of the Humvee in the army.

Konflikt 47 Defiance Preview Pack

Although I always liked the models of the Bolt Action series and the system, I could not really get attached to the game for a while, due to it’s real historical background. However, when the Bersaglieri for Konflikt 47 appeared in June 2018, my interest was aroused. Konflikt 47 offers enough fiction to successfully bring Bolt Action into a Pulp setting without sacrificing the existing range of models. Since painted minis are an important atmosphere driver for me, I was of course interested in the quality of the models and the Defiance Preview Pack was for 7.5£ a good way to take a better look at the K47 Italians.

Konflikt 47 Allied Coyote/Guardian Light Walker

At the end of August, I've held a Konflikt 47 walker in my hands for the first time and was thus able to gain my first experiences with the Coyote kit. The walker is delivered in a box, but is effectively housed in a classic clampack.

After I freed the Mech from his package, the following picture of contents could be seen: lamps, flamethrower and heavy machine gun were included twice, a regular one once. The flamethrowers and the light machine gun are mounted on the arms. If you choose only to use the flamethrowers, the british Guardian variant of the Coyote is built.

Konflikt 47 Locust Medium Panzermech

Picking up the theme of Konflikt 47 once again. We cover today an interesting counter-part to the jump walkers of the Allied Forces, like the M2 Mudskipper, the Locust Panzermech by the Axis.

Konflikt '47 is a joint project by Warlord Games and Clockwork Goblin and is set upon an updated Bolt Action's First Edition ruleset. Some of the kits make use of the existing range of Bolt Action, add additional parts to them (like the tanks) or are complete newly designed kits, like these walkers.

Konflikt 47 US Mudskipper Jump Walker

Konflikt '47 is a joint project by Warlord Games and Clockwork Goblin and is set upon an updated Bolt Action's First Edition ruleset. In addition to the regular Bolt Action products, that can be used with Konflikt '47, there are a couple of items that were specifically designed for the range.

Like many of the post '46 World War settings, Konflikt '47 adds mech-like walkers, and today we're going to take a look on the Mudskipper Jump Walker, one of the Allied medium walkers. In the medium class, are a couple of other variants available like the M8 Grizzly, Kodiak and Bruin walkers.

Bolt Action PzKpfw VIII Maus

On friday, January 20th, Warlord Games offered a limited access to the first 35 Maus tanks for Bolt Action and Konflikt 47. I was lucky enoug to get one, as the tanks were quickly sold out. But do not despair, they will be available from mid / late february again in higher numbers.

Ordered on friday, shipped on monday and arrived on thursday in Germany. Solid timing. As the Maus is a direct sales / Mail Order exclusive, it comes in a bubblewrap bag without a box.
