Legions Imperialis – Order Tokens and Objectives Markers
This part of the latest wave for Legions Imperialis comes as a bit of a surprise: the Order Tokens and Objective Markers.
They will be available to pre-order from 23rd August and in stores from 6rd September. The recommended retail price (RRP) of this set is 20 GBP / 25 EUR.
Legions Imperialis – Mastodon Super-Heavy Assault Transport
This is quite the release, with a whopping five new plastic vehicle kits for Legions Imperialis! We kick off our coverage with the largest vehicle in this wave: the Mastodon Super-Heavy Assault Transport, along with the Liber Strategia and Token/Objective set.
If you are not familiar with the Horus Heresy, you may not know about the Mastodon. I saw the larger Horus Heresy model 'in the flesh' at the Warhammer World exhibition, painted in the colours of both the Imperial Fists and the Sons of Horus.
The Mastodon is a massive siege transport designed to deliver large numbers of Space Marines directly into enemy fortifications. Its primary weapon is the forward-firing Siege Melta Array (anti-tank, demolisher and engine killer), which can burn through even the strongest walls to create breaches for assault. Once a breach has been made, the Mastodon's assault doors and rear ramp open to let squads pour through, with the vehicle itself serving as an armoured tunnel. Heavily armed and armoured, it carries secondary weapons such as lascannons, flamers and a Skyreaper Battery (light anti-tank, skyfire and tracking) for air defence. The interior is divided into compartments with reinforced bulkheads for protection, and can be fully sealed against chemical or viral threats. Even when destroyed, the Mastodon often remains an almost indestructible bunker, continuing to shield those inside.
Legions Imperialis – Liber Strategia
The new releases for Legions Imperialis not only cover plastic miniatures, but also a new supplement: the Liber Strategia.
This 240-page book brings together all the army lists previous released in the core rulebook and three campaign supplements into a single hard cover and adds further Iconic Formations (Formations of Legend) along with the new entries in the army list from this release. It therefore covers all current formations and units for the Legiones Astartes, Solar Auxilia, Mechanicum Taghmata, Dark Mechanicum, Collegia Titanica and Knight Households the army lists.
Pre-order opens today on August 23rd, and the book will be available in store on September 6th. The RRP is 40 GBP / 51,25 EUR.
Legions Imperialis – Spartan Assault Tanks
On Tuesday, we discussed the Land Raider Proteus Explorator, and today, we will introduce its larger counterpart: the Spartan Assault Tank for Legions Imperialis.
We saw the plastic kit of this model in 2022, and last year the Spartan Assault Tanks were added to Legions Imperialis as a squadron of four vehicles, with an RRP of 31.50 GBP / €41 EUR.
Legions Imperialis – Land Raider Proteus Explorator Squadron
In anticipation of the upcoming releases for Legions Imperialis, we are going to fill some gaps in our reviews, beginning with the Land Raider Proteus.
The iconic Space Marine vehicle is available in Legions Imperialis as a Land Raider Proteus Explorator Squadron of six vehicles at a RRP of 31,50 GBP / 41 EUR.
Warhammer – The Big Summer Preview Show 2025 Part 1
The Big Summer Preview Show was held on Friday of the Warhammer Open Tacoma weekend. And this certainly deserves the name BIG Summer PREVIEW, as this was not just a few teasers but a proper motherlode of upcoming releases. And they started the preview just like we do our podcast - what did you recently hobby did you do?
We're going to go through the announcements not in chronological order, but split into the Grim Dark of Warhammer 40k and 30k in part 1 and the Warhammer Fantasy systems in part 2.
Legions Imperialis – Mustering the Imperial Fists
I did an initial draft of the theme of my Epic scale Imperial Fists, long before the rules of Legions Imperialis (or even the game itself) were announced. And now with access to the various formations and detachments, I want to create a proper scope for this project.
Initially, they are meant to be Defenders of Terra, the Imperial Fists forces of the Third Sphere. We made an example army list, using the content of the starter boxes and first wave. This is somewhat limited, but gave us around 2.000 points to work with.
The access to the Sicarans, Predators and Kratos will give us the option to use a proper armoured company, as well as solid transports within a Demi-Company using the Rhinos.
Legions Imperialis – Mechanicum Units
The youngest addition to Legions Imperialis are the Mechanicum, including their traitor forces of the Dark Mechanicum. This brings a third major force into the civil war and we will see if some of the other, smaller factions will follow.
I checked the available units from the Liber Mechanicum and Martian Civil War, and we have a really high coverage, even new additions like the Stalker Constructs, we're waiting to be released for Horus Heresy in the larger scale.
Legions Imperialis – Solar Auxilia Units
The same question as with the Legiones Astartes. Which units does the Solar Auxilia have (based upon the Liber Imperium and Battle for Beta Garmon) and which of these made it into the Epic scale of Legions Imperialis. In some cases, we even have units in Legions that are currently not part of the Horus Heresy army lists, like the baneblades.
The Solar Auxilia have - compared to the Astartes - a rather compact army list with the following units and options.

A lot of questions were around, what is coming next for Legions Imperialis? Where is the game going and what is missing? And therefore I tought it would be useful to provide an overview of what we currently have and what is missing. I am using for reference the Horus Heresy books and cross-reference them with the supplements we have for Legions Imperialis so far and will provide the list below. Starting with the Space Marines / Legiones Astartes, but will cover the Solar Auxilia and Mechanicum as well.
As we currently have no legiones specific units in Legions Imperialis, only formations that we saw in The Devastation of Tallarn, I'll skip them for the purpose of clarity.
