Adeptus Titanicus – Titan bases

In december of last year I did a solid theme week on Adeptus Titanicus. I covered the two Warlord Battle Titans, the Reaver Battle Titan in both variants as well.

They stand proud and tall, I've just ordered a box of Questoris Knights and Cerastus Knights, and can't wait for the Acastus Knight, that was teasered on Warhammer Fest.

Now we have these impressive miniatures, but rather empty bases. Of course, you could just fill them with rubble or wasteland, but as were talking 6-8mm, it could be filled with ruins or buildings.

Through a good buddy of mine, I have access to a 3d printer, and we gave some files from Thingiverse a try. Among them the Basilica Ruins in 6mm by fractalnoise. With 3d printing it is a lot of trial and error until you have the settings right, but as these were meant to be used as ruins on bases, so even the not-top notch prints can be put to use.

The steps are quite fine, well you can't see the details due to the light material but a brief coat of wash shows the fine details nicely. So giving them a base colour and 1-2 coats of drybrushing will do fine.

Here's a quick scale comparison with the Warlord and Reaver, along with a couple of old 6mm epic 40k vehicles. Thanks to the great Tabletop Community, I was able to get some further vehicles and infantry models, that will be used for base detailling. Thanks again guys for supporting this project.

A couple of days ago, I stumbled on Instagram on Unreal Wargaming Studio, and their upcoming TitanWars kickstarter, that will cover ruined bases in the matching scale. Hope for reasonable prices, but we will know more in July.

Games Workshop offers some buildings in the matching scale, but those are to massive to be used as ruins / base detailling for my taste. As for terrain for a gaming table, I found some churches in N and Z scale from model trains, that look like a really good fit, like the KIBRI Siegtaldom. May take a look on eBay for some building lots. I'll keep you updated.
