Deth Wizards – The Town Part 4
The progress on the houses took the majority of my easter holidays and I picked up where I left off the last time.
I added further paints to the buildings, starting with the grey for the chimneys.
I re-did the blue roofs, as the cheaper acrylic that I used for the first coat just didn't provide proper coverage and swapped to a Marabu paint there as well.
And I started with the half-timbering in brown and what can I say, that is an incredibly time consuming step. I remember the trim on the Adeptus Titanicus projects eating up a lot of time as well back then, and while I looked up a video for inspiration for the beige / off-white for the plaster, I noticed my biggest mistake on these - painting them inside out.
I would have saved quite a lot of time, if I had painted the brown timbering first and just filled in the yellow after wards.
Afterwards I touched up the rather bright yellow with a more mustard colour, that I mixed from same parts dark yellow and white, with a drop of brown, as you can see on the left.
It did some clean up, as I wanted to add the wash in the next step.
