Crisis 2012 – Part V
A couple of familiar faces, that we've seen at Spiel were at Crisis as well. Among them Warlord Games, Conquest Games and Mantic Games.
At Warlord Games was as on the past shows, quite a lot going on, as the visitors wanted to get their hands on the army bundles and new plastic kits.
Weekend Crisis – Crisis Weekend
The weekend is more or less over and i can look back on some busy days.
A show without some hurting shoulders and my packed messenger bag wouldn't be a real show!
Let me say a big thank you and chapeau! to the great work the Tinsoldiers of Antwerp have done organizing the Crisis 2012. Amazing event!
Looking for 15mm Sci-Fi Tanks
As i want to try out 15mm Sci-Fi, I am looking for fitting miniatures. As I am more or less settled on the ARC Troopers as Infantry from Critical Mass Games.
The range to choose from isn't that large and i was thinking about using these Cruisers from Firestorm Armada as Medium or Light Tanks.
Weekend, weekend where have you been
Its been a busy weekend. Doing some chores in the flat and taking some time to clean up and organize the new home. And of course, spending some of that time in my beloved home office for miniature goodness.
But before we come to the serious stuff (as far as miniature wargaming can be serious), some childish things first. I stumbled upon some smaller LEGO Star Wars planet kits (they come with an planet, a minifig and a vehicle / space ship) in Belgium in a toy store and was struggling with my self to buy me an X-Wing. The price of 13 Euro kept me from buying one. But earlier this week I was shopping at LIDL and they had the same kits for a special price of 8 Euro. Well, long story short, here we go ... an AT-ST Walker incl. Pilot and Endor as well as the already mentioned X-Wing Starfighter incl. Pilot and Yavin 4.
Perry Miniatures – Mounted Man at Arms
After the cavalry boxes by the Perrys were among the best rated kits in our reviews, a review of the Mounted Man at Arms was a must!
Yield from Spiel
Since Thursday its once again Spiel, the big toy fair in Essen, and i went to the show - of course on the first day!
Such an event can't be visited without the regular haul on the traders and manufactors, and as some readers already started asking about those, i don't want to keep you waiting. Here it is.
Gaming Capitals
Last weekend i was in Nuremberg, City of one toy show, and this week i'll head to Essen, City of the other toy show.
But lets start with Nuremberg, interesting city, great food, delicious beer and a really nice old town.
Photokina & BitBox
Thanks to everyone for the Birthday wishes! Beside work and some really short weekends, what was going on on the hobby-side? Well, the weekend before this the photokina was in Cologne (a large photography fair).
As i am now "armed" with a nice starter DSLR, i was looking for some additional accessoires, which i found. How has this something to do with miniatures? Well, somehow we have to get some pictures online - that is for sure and some of this things will be usefull for others as well.
First there was B-Grip, an italian company, having a nice marketing special, where you could trade in your neckstrap agains on of their belt holder. As i was already looking for something to replace my rather cheap neckstrap (the one canon packs into the box with the 1100D is not even stitched, just printed), i took this deal with great joy! After all, this belt holder including the quick release plate is awesome for miniature shows and fairs. Hands free and still quick access to the cam and all i had to do was to trade in my neckstrap.
Update from the weekend
First off all, a short announcement. Chaosbunker is going bi-lingual, so from now on, all of the updates and posts will be in english as well as german! Hooray!
FeenCon 2012
The Guild of Fantasy Roleplayers, GFR, organises the annual FeenCon in Bonn Bad Godesberg. As a Koblenz resident, it's not far away and we like to drop by.
