Bolt Action A34 Comet Cruiser Tank

We've covered the lighter Cromwell tank before (the resin kit in 2013 and the plastic kit in 2014 - only in German), and we're following up on this class of British tanks, with another draft from 2018's backlog we're completing today - the A34 Comet Cruiser Tank.

My attention to the Comet Cruiser tank came from World of Tanks, as I really enjoyed playing the Tier VII medium tank back then. So, when Warlord Games added the kit to their range, I just had to have and now want to share the build report / review with a bit of delay with you.

Bolt Action Bishop Self Propelled Gun

We covered a few self-propelled guns in the past, and some that didn't make it to tank week, just like this Bishop QF 25 pdr SPG. But today is his day and we cover him in a review.

Bolt Action - Bishop SPG

This is a 28mm resin kit by Warlord Games with a RRP of 31,50 GBP / 38 EUR. It is listed as a made to order kit, which does not mean he is mail order exclusive, but just something that is less likely to be on stock and is casted once ordered. Your local gaming store can order them in and it might not come in a boxed set with printed artwork, but a neutral packaging. As I had this kit for a long time (and this review is in draft since 2018), mine came wrapped in bubble wrap with a sticker on it.

Bolt Action Tiger I Ausf. E

This is one comes from the vault and prepared for a while now, but somehow got sidetracked with the further completion.

The Tiger I Ausf. E is a plastic kit, produced by Italeri for Warlord Games in 28mm / 1:56. We've covered Tiger I and IIs on here before, among others by Warlord Games and Rubicon, in plastic and in resin.

Bolt Action - Tiger I Ausf. E

The Tiger I was a German heavy tank of world war II, with the official designation PzKpfw. VI (ordnance inventory Sd.Kfz. 181) and was produced by Henschel. A total number of 1,347 units were build between 1942 and 1944 and were in service on the Eastern Front, North Africa and Europe in the late war. The early variants were prone to track failures and breakdowns, and the tank in general was expensive to maintain and to produce (expensive materials and labour intensive production methods). One of the reasons why, even as it was an impressive "war machine", it was overengineered. There were prototypes, for example by Porsche on the Tiger I development, the VK 45.01 (P), the hull was later used for the Ferdinand.

Warhammer 40,000 – Leviathan Tyranid Units

Building the last part of our Leviathan coverage, the regular Tyranid units after showing the HQ and Elites earlier this week. The Tyranids have a lot of miniatures in this set, a total of 47 (!) and beside the impressive unique poses, we have a few units and swarms to take a look at.

We have Termagants and Ripper Swarms, Neurogaunts, Barbgaunts and Von Ryan's Leapers, all as push-fit models, yet quite dynamic ones, but more on that further below. The Tyranids have the big advantage that their biomorphs and mutations make it is easy, to add new units and creatures to the army, with less trouble of retconning them. Yet, some of these are updated miniatures, others are new creations, but more on that in the review itself.

Warhammer 40,000 – Leviathan Tyranid HQ and Elites

We have covered the Space Marines from the Leviathan boxed set and the general unboxing, now in the next step, we take a closer look on some of the unique HQ and Elite units of the Tyranids.

There's quite a bunch of unique models in this box, Winged Tyranid Prime, Carnifex Screamer-Killer, Neurotyrant and Psychophage. These are push-fit models as the rest of the boxed set and are partially on their own or in mixed sprues, more on that further below. As the Space Marines are shown in the colours of the Ultramarines, the Tyranids are painted in the colours of Hive Swarm Leviathan, giving the boxed set its name.

Warhammer 40,000 – Leviathan Ballistus Dreadnought

Part of the Space Marine battle force from the Warhammer 40,000 Leviathan box is a new sub-class of the Redemptor Dreadnought, armed with a versatile missile launcher and a devastating twin-linked lascannon.

Of the Redemptor class of Dreadnoughts we've built the Brutalis Dreadnought in February and now have the chance to cover another Primaris scaled Dread.

Warhammer 40,000 – Leviathan Terminators and Characters

We did the Unboxing of the Warhammer 40,000 Leviathan boxed set and start with the first detailed review covering the new, upscaled Terminators and Characters, a Captain and a Librarian.

These models are currently only available via Leviathan and as they are push-fit, it is likely that the characters will be available separately later, but the Terminators will most likely be replaced with a multipart plastic kit, covering additional weapon options.

What are Terminators? Only the Veterans of the 1st company of a Space Marine chapter, who earn the Crux Terminatus, have the right to wear the Tactical Dreadnought Armour, most commonly known as Terminator Armour. These armours are the toughest infantry armour the Mechanicum provides to the Space Marines, but their wearers trade in maneuverability for protection and heavier firepower. As such they are often used in boarding actions on starships or other assault missions, where they can make additional use of the teleportation technology integrated into the armour.
