Road to CONflict – Part VII
You could see my progress on the tanks in the last article, Road to CONflict - Part VI, and now we were on the final steps just days away from CONflict 2024. In part IV I gave you the overview on the terrain files I printed for our demo table.
Grabbed a variety of green tones to paint the base colours, and moved on to the further scatter terrain and mines.
Have to say it is the first time for me painting a larger batch home printed 3d items, and was quite happy about the detail and how little you see the printing steps, even with drybrushing and washing.
Mounting the mines onto a card board made painting them much easier.
As this is terrain, base colours with wash and few highlights is enough to get tabletop ready, especially as I didn't had that much time on my hand. So I went across the pieces and a final drybrush in off-white brought it all together.
For a final step, I went around with AK Dust & Dirt Deposits to give it a dusty finish, and as I was quite happy with the result, I went on and used it on the tanks and mines as well.
And only 24 hours after that, the pieces went into action on a custom board printed and built by Florian and we had a great weekend gaming at CONflict.
With CONflict 2024 behind us, the question is - what are we going to do for next years event? It will very certainly be something scenario driven.
I hope you enjoyed the coverage on the Behind the Scenes so far, feel free to ask me anything if I missed to cover it in the articles so far.
