Zombies and Frostgrave
I did some painting this week! Along with putting my Airbrush to action, i gave the Zombie bust a first coat of paint. After receiving some feedback about which scheme to choose, i went with greenish skin (as base tone, but it will become more "fleshy"), grey shirt and blue trousers.
Afrikakorps and Conversions
Spend some time at the weekend with the airbrush. Preparing my Afrikakorps, which consists mostly of Rubicon vehicles and Perry infantry.
I started with Vallejo black primer. You can use it directly from the bottle, but i thin it down a bit never the less. You get a thinner coat with the airbrush, compared to the spray can. But it takes a bit longer. And it is a bit more matt finish. At the moment the motorized part of the Afrikakorps consists of an Tiger I, a Panzer III and IV, SdKfz 251 and Opel Blitz, with two more to come. The Greif and Kübelwagen aren't prepared yet and will follow in another batch.
Frostgrave Blisters and Individuals
Frostgrave is more than just the plastic kit. North Star offers quite a lot of Blisters with the initial release, so i beefed up the Soldiers with a bunch of magicians and wizards.
Frostgrave Soldiers
North Star did a Nickstarter for Frostgrave, a fantasy skirmish ruleset, and even included a plastic kit of soldiers.
Renedra Sandbags
Renedra covers quite a lot terrain plastic kits nowadays and among them is an accessoire sprue with sandbags. These come in single or double pack for 5 / 8 GBP.
Bases for Frostgrave
I was browsing around for matching Bases for the Frostgrave project for a while now, and after looking at a lot of cobblestone bases but not finding the right for me, i stumbled upon Greenstuffworlds textured rolling pins.
The Walking Dead Bust
A while ago, i found an article online how somebody converted a Walking Dead piggybank into a bust. I remembered, i saw one of those at our local comicbook store, so i head over and checked the price. Below 20 bucks, fine with me!
I started taping the base, so the logo wouldn't be damaged while painting and closed the coin slot in the back with grey stuff. And i fixed some of the joints and minor assembling gaps with grey stuff and vallejo putty.
Scale Model Challenge 2015 – Part I
For the first time i went to the Scale Model Challenge in Eindhoven. It was hold at the weekend from 10th to 11th October 2015 at the NH Koningshof in a suburb of Eindhoven.
Scale Model Challenge 2015 – Part II
We leave the vendor hall, and head over to the Workshop and Manufacturers.
Spiel 2015 – Part I
I am back from a long day at the Internationale Spieletagen SPIEL '15 in Essen. Oh Boy, what a day! The journey began with a solid traffic jam (there were problems with the local traffic in Essen, so many people who normaly would have taken the train, came to the show by car ...) and the first time a rainy day at show. Never happened to me once in the last decade. But never the less, i spend a great day at the show, and i want to share my impressions with you.
