More Movies and MDF
So while watching a couple of movies (The magnificent seven and An honest liar) along with binge watching theĀ 2nd season Bojack Horseman on netflix a few weeks ago, i continued working on the Spartan Scenics.
Wehrtechnische Studiensammlung Koblenz
This weekend, was the 15th Long Night of Museums in Koblenz, and i remembered my visit to the Wehrtechnische Studiensammlung (Scientific Collection of Defence Engineering Specimen) two years ago. It isn't Bovington and it isn't Munster, but it is something. So i translated the old article to english and here are the three posts. Enjoy!
Masks, Doors and Dices
A bit of a mixed posts for today, i did a bit of painting for a friend of mine, Kschenk. A repaint of a paintball mask. The mask was simply black with a slight silver drybrush, but he wanted it to look more like the mad max villains mask, so i grabbed P3 Hammerfall Khaki along with Reaper Linen White and got busy. As far as i know, Klaus will add tubes to get even closer to the look of Immortan Joe.
Bolt Action Germany Strikes!
With the Pacific Expansion right around the corner, Warlord Games makes a jump back to the beginning of World War II with "Germany Strikes!", Early War in Europe.
Tool-time!
This week LIDL has an offer on art products (brushes, frames etc.) and i got these sets of brushes for 3 euros each. Those are always a good choice for terrain or larger kits. Beside that, i am currently giving a bit of painting a try, as i need some motives for the living room, but can't find the right thing.
Lego hobby basement
We all know about the one or the other man cave, hobby den or impressive basement focused on gaming. Well and there is this impressive Lego filled one, i found at houzz.
Mantic Mars Attacks Trucks
Mantic Games released for Mars Attacks these nice Trucks in 28mm scale. They are proper hard plastic, come in a sprue etc., no restic, no resin, straight forward good old plastic. I got myself a set of 3, for general purpose in Necromunda, Zombie Survival etc.
gamescom 2015 – Part I
On wednesday, August 5th 2015, gamescom 2015 started for the trade visitors and press. On thursday the gates will open for everybody.
gamescom 2015 – Part II
And of course, part II of the gamescom visit. So what does a wargamer do on a video game show? He takes a look at wargames and wargame-themed games.
Neocore Games, a small independend studio from hungary, had Inquisitor Martyr with them, and even some death cult assassins to guard their booth. The game is still in an early pre-alpha status, but you could give it a try. It's a sci-fi hack & slay, where you control an Inquisitor against the foul heretics with already some nice graphics and grim dark feel. Some of the details are missing, but it is a pre-alpha so i am pretty sure, we will see more of it.
Vintage Wargaming
I have to thank Driscoles from the Sweetwater Board for this great found, that i'd like to share with you.
This is some vintage wargaming, captured on tape, and i really like the gentlemen like way of gaming. These videos were made in the late 70s and it the terrain looks very impressive. They cover Gettysburg (ACW) and Waterloo (Napoleonics), but enough introduction. I'll let you take at the videos by yourself.
