Bolt Action Campaign Case Blue

The next supplement for Bolt Action is on our table - Campaign Case Blue, covering the summer offensive into the southern region of the Ostfront.

Bolt Action Campaign - Case Blue

Campaign Case Blue was released in late October 2023, much early than initially anticipated. As the communicated release date was January 9th of 2024. Along with Campaign Stalingrad and Road to Berlin this book completes the coverage on the Eastern Front even further.

Bolt Action Campaign Italy – Tough Gut

We cover the second part of the Italian campaign today and move on from the Soft Underbelly towards the Tough Guts.

Bolt Action Campaign Italy - Tough Gut

Almost a year after the first book, Campaign Italy: Tough Gut was released in August 2023, expanding the possibilities for the Italian forces even more. The first book covered the activities until Ortena in December 1943 and we pick it up again in the second supplement in January 1944 with their move further towards Rome through Cassino, until June 1944.

Adeptus Titanicus – Campaign Compendium

After the latest addition to the game, including Gravation Beamer weaponry for various titan classes, a "new" book is up for pre-order - the Adeptus Titanicus Campaign Compendium.

Adeptus Titanicus - Campaign Compendium

A quick heads up. This is a book review. We don't do meta-discussion on Chaosbunker. We will cover what is covered in the campaign supplement and what is not. Games Workshop offers this proper 224-page hardcover for 50 EURs with the following description.

Bolt Action Campaign Mariana & Palau Islands

A bit of catching up to do. While Bolt Action returns to D-Day with the current and next campaign supplement, we have to catch up and revisit the pacific with Bolt Action Campaign Mariana & Palau Islands.

Bolt Action - Campaign Mariana & Palau Islands Bolt Action - Campaign Mariana & Palau Islands

For those of you, not familiar with the pacific campaign, a brief intro on the campaign might come in handy. We have had releases covering the (South) East Asian conflict for Bolt Action with Empires in Flames and New Guinea. And with Mariana & Palau, the US Forces, especially the Marines are moved into focus, in their battles against the Japanese. At 160 pages it doesn't set a new record in thickness, but is still broad and covering a lot of ground for the campaign. Pricing stays with the usual price band of 20 GBP or 30 USD (about 25 EUR). And as often with the Bolt Action / Osprey books, we had an early cover (left) and a changed final cover of the supplement (right), replacing the US Marine with an IJA soldier.

Bolt Action Campaign D-Day: Overlord

In the year of the 75th anniversary of the D-Day it makes more than sense, to (re-)visit one of the most infamous operations of the second world war - Operation Overlord. Warlord covered the battles in North-Western Europe with the very first campaign supplement, Battleground Europe, and now comes with a strong focus on Campaign D-Day: Overlord.

Bolt Action Campaign D-Day: Overlord Bolt Action - Campaign D-Day: Overlord

While Battleground Europe covers the whole late war from the preparations to the landing in the Normandy, over Arnheim (that was covered in more detail with Campaign Market Garden) and Bastogne (which had a more detailled supplement with Campaign Battle of the Bulge) until the crossing of the Rhine, this book takes care of the very day of June 6th. If you read the intro of the very carefully, two more books are announced, that will cover the break outs from the beachheads by the US Americans, Canadians and British. Above you can see the early cover with an US American paratrooper and the later final cover with an US American GI.

Bolt Action Campaign Fortress Budapest

With the campaign Fortress Budapest supplement Bolt Action opens up a new theatre of war on the southern area of the Eastern Front. And unlike some of the other campaign supplements, it wasn't already covered in one of the broader books.

Bolt Action - Campaign Fortress Budapest Bolt Action - Campaign Fortress Budapest

Fortress Budapest covers the late war Budapest Offensive of the Soviet and Romanian armies against the Nazi German and Hungarian forces, between 1944 and 1945. So this extends the battles of the Eastern Front, including the "smaller" allied nations of the Axis and Allies. With 168 pages this campaign supplement shares the status of begin the thickest campaign supplement so far with Western Desert. Yet Warlord Games keeps the price at 19,99 GBP or 30 USD and offers as usual a exclusive miniature for customers who order directly at them, Major Edomar Tassonyi. And once again we have an updated cover, but this time the motiv stayed the same, was just updated to a more battle worn image of the same soldier.

Bolt Action Campaign Battle of France

The supplement Campaign Battle of France goes more into detail into a part that was already covered by a previous supplement, but in a broader, more generalized way with Germany Strikes! back in 2015. This is nothing new, Warlord Games treated some of the other supplements with a more detailled coverage, like Western Desert did for Duel in the Sun, or Market Garden did for Battleground Europe.

Bolt Action - Campaign Battle of France Bolt Action - Campaign Battle of France

Battle of France covers primarely Fall Gelb / the Manstein Plan (Case Yellow) and Fall Rot (Case Red), on 128 pages. That is upper centre-field in thickness. The price tag stands at the usual 19.99 GBP or 30 USD and as we are already used from the teasers by Osprey in their product catalogues, there is an early cover (right) with an early war German soldier and the final cover (left) with the French soldier. This happens quite often, to promote an upcoming book, before the final decision on the artwork is done.

Warhammer 40.000 Urban Conquest

Today I'm covering the Urban Conquest supplement for the 8th Edition of Warhammer 40,000. Games Workshop is starting 2019 strong with a new campaign boxed set for their main game in the grim dark future of the 41st millenium.

Warhammer 40.000 - Urban Conquest

Urban Conquest picks up the city fight theme of its predecessor from the 3rd edition City Fight and 4th edition Cities of Death. But unlike the older supplements, this is a boxed set, covering not only the rules, but a bit of terrain and a modular campaign map.

Warhammer 40.000 Kill Team Campaign Boxed Set

Similar to the Organised Play set for the Underworlds series, Games Workshop provided the new Kill Team ruleset with a similar pack - the Campaign box.
