Black Powder – Compagnies Franches de la Marine
The box of the Compagnies Franches de la Marine was published years ago by Warlord Games, but came into focus again with the publication of the black powder supplement "A Dark And Bloody Ground" for the French and Indian War. Various special offers from Warlord Games included this box, so it's worth a look.
Munchkin Warhammer 40,000 – Savagery and Sorcery Supplement
After Faith and Firepower Munchkin Warhammer 40.000 receives a second supplement, Savagery and Sorcery and adds the very iconic rivalry between the Space Wolves and Thousand Sons to the card board action.
I've covered the base set of Munchkin Warhammer 40.000 in Summer, a few days ago the first supplement Faith and Firepower and that creates a 280 card deck. This second supplement adds another 112 cards to the game. The US box has a RRP of 19.99 USD, the German box supplied by Pegasus Spiele costs 12.95 EUR.
Munchkin Warhammer 40,000 – Faith and Firepower Supplement
The first supplement of cards for Munchkin Warhammer 40.000 is called Faith and Firepower and brings the T'au and Adeptus Sororitas / Sisters of Battle into the game.
I've covered the base set of Munchkin Warhammer 40.000 in Summer, and it covered 168 cards. This new supplement adds another 112 cards to the game. The US box has a RRP of 19.99 USD, the German box supplied by Pegasus Spiele costs 12.95 EUR.
Oathmark Goblin Infantry
Another non-human boxed set for the Oathmark range is the Goblin Infantry. I've already covered the Elves and the Dwarves in the past, so if you want to take a look at them, click the links above.
The Oathmark - Battles of the Lost Age range is a project by Osprey Games and North Star Military Figures, with Renedra covering the casting. I didn't buy this kit nor did North Star gave it to me for review purposes, I traded it from the travelling box HANS!. That is the reason why the box is a bit beat up and the sprue of square bases is missing.
Adeptus Titanicus – Questoris Knights with Thunderstrike Gauntlets and Rocket Pods
The Imperial Knights receive an upgrade and now have full access to the armoury of the Questoris Knights, incl. the new Thunderstrike Gauntlets and Rocket Pods.
Black Seas – 3rd Rates Squadron
In addition to the Frigates and Brigs from earlier this week, I want to cover the third plastic sprue as well - the 3rd rates. These are currently available as a squadron of 3 in a boxed set.
The name third rate comes from the British rating of ships of the line. A third rate ship of the line would usually have 64 to 80 guns mounted, thus making it less gunned than a second rate ship (90 to 98 guns) and first rates with 100 guns and more (so far only available as resin models by Warlord Games.), both usually have an additional gun deck, sometimes even two in case of the first rates.
Black Seas – Frigates and Brigs Flotilla
After expanding Bolt Action into the naval combat with Cruel Seas, Black Powder benefits from a similar treatment and is expanded into the Age of Sails with the new Black Seas ruleset. Warlord Games introduced three new plastic sprues with ships in 1/700th scale of which we're going to cover the Frigates and Brigs today.
These sprues are part of the Master & Commander starter set as well, but are available as a Flotilla for 20 GBP and cover two Frigates and four Brigs.
Warhammer Underworlds: Beastgrave – The Grymwatch
The first of the warband supplements for Beastgrave, the third season of Warhammer Underworlds is a Flesh-Eater Court warband, the Grymwatch.
The Grymwatch is an undead warband supplement for Warhammer Underworlds and costs 25.00 EUR. So these got a small price increase from the former 22.50 RRP price tag. There are 6 ghouls and a bat swarm in this warband, spread across two grey-green sprues, along with a card deck and assembly instructions. The former warbands were available as easy-to-build kits without the Underworlds content, the Grymwatch isn't offered in that way (yet).
Warhammer Underworlds: Beastgrave Primal Lair
In Nightvault Games Workshop introduced for the first time terrain accessories with the Arcane Hazards for the Underworlds series, and in Beastgrave we see that idea continued with the Primal Lair.
The Primal Lair is a set of six terrain pieces, to cover hexes on your Underworlds gameboard or to use on a regular tabletop wargame battlefield. It is kept in the design of stalagmites in hex-shape, along with bones and multiple things we've seen in the caverns.
Warhammer Underworlds: Beastgrave
The Warhammer Underworlds series starts into its third season with Beastgrave.
After the initial Shadespire and second edition Nightvault, the conflict moves into the bestial realm of Ghur, and gets lost in the Beastgrave. A huge mountain, laced with caverns and tunnels, which are filled with treasure and secrets, luring the warbands into its depth. As usual for the starter set it contains two warbands, the current rules, dice, cards and two hex field boards. The new Beastgrave boxed set got a new price tag and costs 60 EUR instead of the 50 EUR the other two sets cost.
