Bolt Action Afrikakorps II
In addition to the short review on the plastic Afrikakorps, i will show you the other miniatures of this project. Head of this army is no other than Rommel himself. The Perrys do offer him inside his famous Greif, but this one is a show exclusive from World War AE / Cipher Studio. He is accompanied by the Zug Command from the Perry metal range.
Bolt Action Afrikakorps
I built my Afrikakorps already, but want to share my impressions of the plastic Afrikorps by the Perrys in this small review.
Schicksalspfade, Alkemy and Lord of the Rings
A bit of show and tell, what i found again while reorganisating my hobby room. Beginning with a small Alkemy warband that i bought in between 3 and 5 years ago from heavily discounted stocks at shows. Ludik Bazar used to sell these for a real small price and as the miniatures themself are quite nice looking, i couldn't say no. The whole lot most likely cost me less than 30 euros and as a skirmish warband they don't eat up that much space. I am thinking about an orange color scheme and some aftermarket roundlip bases, perhaps by Tabletop Art or Micro Art Studio.
Spartan Scenic Sci-Fi Set
A while ago, actually roughly 2 years ago, i bought over a couple of month the majority of the Spartan Scenic Sci-Fi System boxes. Beginning with the Starter Set in September 2013.
Seven-Eleven!
Two of these 3 hour movies later, i really made some progress. I am currently building some Spartan Scenics, and started with The Great Escape and some of the hallways.
The Spartan Scenics can mostly be assembled without glueing just by sticking it together. They have a tight grip, in many cases too tight, so you need to file down some edges and parts, if you don't want to damage parts by using too much force to put them together. That makes the whole process incredibly time consuming. Beside that the assembly constructions are unclear in many parts, you get one A4 sheet for all of the sets there are - all of them on one single sheet. They don't rotate, they don't go close ups, so some parts, especially on the larger rooms are assembled by guessing, assuming and seeing that is left when you build other stuff. That is not really a good way to go.
Ready for the Weekend
I've been tinkering around since last weekend, preparing and building kits, taking pictures. All that's left is adding the texts. I even managed to upload some older - partly unseen - event coverage to this page.
So what's up for the weekend? Well, first things from the for sale thread are packed and waiting to be shipped.
And more Tanks for Bolt Action
The assembly of the tanks, tankettes and armoured vehicles continues. Beginning with the BA-6, that will be part of my spanish carlist army for Bolt Action. The tires were quite tricky to build and some of the smaller parts were rather difficult to add to the resin body (to small to pin, to fiddly to glue properly).
Bolt Action Ostfront
After covering the western front with Battleground Europe, Warlord Games adds with the Ostfront campaign book, the battles beginning with Khalkyn Gol, and the Winter War until the fall of Berlin.
Warlord Games picks up the theatre selectors, that we know from the "Armies of ..." books, again for this campaign book. With 112 pages Ostfront is slightly thicker than Battleground Europe (108 Pages) and covers the conflicts between the Soviet Union and its neighbors. The price is set at 19,99 GBP or 29,95 USD (~ 25 Euro).
Stompa stompz!
I bought a stompa at the bitbox a year or two ago, and it was a great deal. No, i don't have an ork army, but i thought of this as an impressive piece of terrain. A overhauled / half-build monstrosity, that would make a great objective for a scenario. It could be some kind of mobile mining robot for Necromunda, it could be the stompa it is for Inquisitor 28, and so much more.
