Age of Sigmar – Stormcast Eternals Xandire’s Truthseekers
It has been a while since we covered an Underworlds warband here. We did a review on the 2023 generic starter set and the last time we covered one of the seasons, was with Beastgrave in 2020. Within the Stormbringer subscription, we already had a couple of warbands, just without the cards, like Mollog's Mob, Zarbag's Gitz and others that yet have to be released like Thundriks Profiteers or Ironskull's Boyz.
With Xandire's Truthseekers we see another warband re-released within Stormbringer, it was part of German issue 10 in March 2024, but initially part of the 2021 season Harrowdeep and a year later re-released in Rivals of Harrowdeep aling with Nethermaze, against Da Kunning Krew. In case of the Stormbringer release, the warband is released without the cards.
Warhammer The Old World – High Elf Realms Ellyrian Reavers
The latest addition to the Old World are the High Elf Realms, who got a teaser on Las Vegas Open, with the re-release of "classic" miniatures of the last Warhammer Fantasy Battles kits along with some new additions to the range. A few characters and a new plastic kit of the Ellyrian Reavers.
This new multi-part plastic kit is available for 67,50 EUR and covers ten mounted miniatures. They went on pre-order on February 15th and will be delivered on March 1st.
Age of Sigmar Warcry – Kruleboyz Murknob with Beltcha-Banna
Not just the Stormcasts should have a banner to rally around, but the Kruleboyz as well. For that reason I picked up a Murknob with Beltcha-Banna.
This one is from the same Dominion Starter set from 2021, the third edition of Age of Sigmar, as the Knight-Vexilor, and is currently available as part of the Kruleboyz / Orruk Warclans Spearhead.
Age of Sigmar Warcry – Stormcast Eternals Knight-Vexilor
While the Stormbringer subscription covered some characters for the Stormcast, with still having to be released, it does not cover a bannerman. But this role is so significant, even on skirmish level, that I wanted to add one to my collection.
There are different Knight Vexilor models around, but I like the one from the 2021 3rd edition Age of Sigmar starter set "Dominion". But I don't need the entire box, so I grabbed one from eBay for a few bucks.
Deth Wizards – 2: The first formula
Since Deth Wizards is more of a side project for me, despite the goal of playing at CONflict, I decided to try my hand at painting a bit smoother and not rush myself with the skeletons. Of course, they're not really special models, but what can I say, I like to paint and I like to take my time.
I also tend to forget how I painted some models, which is why I like to write myself “recipes”.
Age of Sigmar Stormbringer – Warcry Stormcast Eternals Warband
I haven't updated this in quite some time, at least not written about it and I like to catch up on this. I started buildin a skirmish warband with the Stormcast Eternals from the Stormbringer subscription, mostly for Warcry, but not exclusively.
Anyhow, I was able to get the Stormcasts primed with Army Painter Colour Primer Dragon Red and some further base colours during a bit of mutual hobby time with other Wargaming Daddies. Never painted something red, so this was a novelty for me, but I think it is a great base colour and contrast to the regular golden boys.
Age of Sigmar Warcry – Stormcast Eternals Knight-Incantor Regis Fulbringer
Not everything for the Warcry warband was used from the Stormbringer subscription, some items were sourced differently. For example I picked up Regis Fulbringer with the Getting Started with Age of Sigmar magazine - along time ago around 2018-2020. And then again, after that magazine was sold out, trough the Arena Mortis supplement for Warhammer Underworlds during the Beastgrave season.
January 2025 review
Welcome to 2025 and we're doing a recap on January!
The year started directly with a gaming event, Dino and I went to ScenarioCon in Hackenheim. I managed to play quite a few games, tried out Fallout Wasteland Warfare, a home brew horror game about Jack the Ripper and All That'Z Left.
Footsore Miniatures – Mortal Gods Mythic Wild Centaurs
After we've already taken a closer look at the civilized centaurs, today we're taking a look at the wild version of the four-legged gentlemen. All models are intended for the Mortal Gods Mythic game and, like the civilized version, were modelled by Trish Carden.
Age of Sigmar Stormbringer Magazine 50 to 55
We have reached the 10th shipment of the German Stormbringer Magazine by Hachette, not only covering the issues 50 to 55, but the third premium add-on as well. Due to the split of the last shipment, some of you might get two boxes filled with miniatures within only 10 days. That is something!
With this set of six issues, we receive mostly paints and character models, but let us take a closer look.
As usual, you can find an overview on the issues so far over here, along with the detailed unboxings of older shipments as well:
