I collected the impressions from the Worlds in 3 separate articles, each covering one of the days.
On the weekend from the 15th to 17th August the world championship in historical wargaming were held in Koblenz, Germany, among other systems Field of Glory was played. The host of this event was the KoMiCon, and the location was the freshly renovated Rhein-Mosel-Halle. As the parking lot was moved underneath the hall, we can't delivery parking lot pictures as usual to the regular guests.
In total there were 106 players from 14 countries playing in 6 different gaming systems.

Doing some errants after work. Just took delivery of my latest order. No nothing tabletop related, well, not directly. A new lense for my Canon, the EF 50mm f/1.8 II. Quite a plastic bomber, but well we will see what it brings.
But let's get back to the wargaming topic. First announcement, I'll be participating at the Worlds 2014 (historical wargaming world championship) Saga Tournament, as a stand in player at least for the first day. Looking forward to it.
I did order a small package at Warlord Games during the historicon, to buy one Dick Winters which was available for a limited time. But i didn't want to put the shipping costs to waste, so i added a little something to the order. The stone walls, Patton, a SAS section, some wehrmacht bits and a squad of wehrmacht soldiers with IR rifles.

Painting Buddha starts up the next Volumes of their painting tutorials and for me it is about time, to show you the first Volume, “Target Identified”.

Matchbox started the "Models of Yesteryear" Range in 1956, a larger 1:43 Scale Range made for collectors. This range is heavily focussed on vehicles from 1910 - 1930. A perfect source for World War 1, Inter-War, World War 2 und Pulp Settings, either as terrain or actively used as car pool.

I had to take a longer break, as my health forced me to re-arrange my plans of the last weeks.
The work on Bolt Action continued and i pursued the concept of my spanish civil war army for early war. I converted the acw zuaves from the perry twins into moroccan mercenaries for my spaniards. Just some weapon conversions missing.

Was there really no update since the 1st May? It's about time for a new post then. A few packages arrived and i'd like to share with you, what i got and what interesting things are available.
Let's start with some hobby products, colours. I got myself some primers from Vallejo for the Bolt Action stuff. The us vehicles may get excited about the olive drab. And all of the tanks will be happy about AK Interactive, along with the black paint set, not just for the tank crews, very usefull for Infinity Templars etc. as well. There will be more coverage on those upcoming.

On May 24th and 25th 2014 the first Dices & Bayonets Con was hosted in Speyer.
For that reason, our Journey began early on saturday, with chequered weather. The dear sirs Christian/Fritz and Martin/Cidster attended with me the journey towards Speyer. Roughly one and a half hour later, along the A61 towards Palatinate we arrived at the event location and documented (as the proud journalist that i am) the given parking.

On Tuesday there was a live-ticker on Brueckenkopf, for which i gathered a couple of running projects to continue. A short overview, what we are talking about. A uber-large Woman sculpted by Werner Klocke for Reaper, a paint in progress Hetzer, the White Dead from Warlord Games and two survivors from Hasslefree.

Easter is coming, and i have a short break from work for a couple of days. I started painting the Imperial Knight, as a Freeblade. I did a review on this kit, the Imperial Knight, and while painting it I am still bummed out about the Decal "fraud".
I kept most of the parts unglued, for easier painting. All parts were primed Black, and the armour parts were given a nice primer with Bolt Action German Fieldgrey, a very greenish grey. The metal parts got heavily drybrushed with metal from AP, but will get another go to really bring out the shiny color. As a contrast to the green, i choosed a bronze /brown-gold color for the armour trims. I'll keep working on this model in the next few days.
