Crisis 2014 – Part 1
On November 1st, the big wargaming event Crisis was held in Antwerp, and the hosts were as usual the Tinsoldiers of Antwerp.
Crisis 2014 – Part 2
A lot to see at Crisis, so i have to split the coverage into several parts, here goes part II. Among others, there is Pro Gloria, with their Crowdfunding project with Landsknechts. Beside the 3-Ups there were some stretch goals to see.
Crisis 2014 – Part 3
The third and last part of the coverage shows a few of the smaller booths and general impressions.
Agema Miniatures brought their romans with them. Karwansaray Publishers had beside the Ancient and Medieval warfare the the Wargames, Soldiers & Strategy to offer. And it was great to see, that Gerard Boom, master of styrodur, was there as well.
Star Wars, Bolt Thrower and Spiel
A big update, date wise, a view back on more than 4 weeks of activity.
I did a bit of house sitting and beside of binge watching a couple of tv series, i did some painting with the Vallejo Black Uniform Set from AK Interactive. Strong PIP.
Scratchbuild Sunday
I promised further progress on my Anglo-Saxons, and so i did. First of all, a little thing i like to share. I mark the bases underneath with numbers and letters, to keep track of the squads / troops organisation. This is something, i find usefull especially with for example crew members, so can keep them together if they are seperately based.
And i did some scratchbuilding on the Lokomotiv. The roof is done and i am not sure about the funnel, but i prefer the red one. Those are caps from medical supplies a friend of mine gave to me. Quite easy and fast solution for funnels, exhausts etc.
Big cars and small houses
It took quite some time to get these, because availability and reasonable prices on them is quite rare. First we have a Mercedes Benz Type 770 "Grosser Mercedes" from the Matchbox Models of the Yesteryear Range. The other one is a fitting 1930s Lokomotive from the Fleischmann Magic Train Range, which works quite well with 28mm. The lokomotive is usually traded around 90 euros (and you have to be lucky to get your hands on the Reichsbahn Version), which is not a bargain for a piece of terrain. I got a "damaged" one, with the roof and funnel missing for a fraction of that. Both pieces are easy to scratchbuild.
I didn't find out about those trains by myself, i got the idea from the Stronghold Terrain Blog, by Elladan. Who has some great work going on there.
Bolt Action Panther Ausf. A
Together with the release of the Tank Wars book, Warlord Games starts a new armoured era for Bolt Action with the Panther Ausf. A.
P-P-P-P-Plastic!
Clipping parts from sprues, getting rid of mold lines and assembling them. Busy, busy. I built the Universal Carrier and the Panther Ausf G from Warlord Games yesterday for upcoming reviews, along with the Warzone Starter of the Brotherhood.
The Worlds Aftermath
Where do we beginn? Let's do a sum up.
The Worlds Weekend was great. Chapeau! to the traders that participated and offered their goods for nice prices. I took the chance got myself some treats. Ainsty Castings Resin parts, a few Lord of the Rings blisters (what for? you will see...), Saga Dice, the new Saga Crescent & Cross Rules and the nice ruler from the Worlds Saga Tournament. Bäm! Oh and i got the Leopard 2A6 from Empress Miniatures at the Worlds!
The Worlds 2014 – Day 3
