Schicksalspfade, Alkemy and Lord of the Rings
A bit of show and tell, what i found again while reorganisating my hobby room. Beginning with a small Alkemy warband that i bought in between 3 and 5 years ago from heavily discounted stocks at shows. Ludik Bazar used to sell these for a real small price and as the miniatures themself are quite nice looking, i couldn't say no. The whole lot most likely cost me less than 30 euros and as a skirmish warband they don't eat up that much space. I am thinking about an orange color scheme and some aftermarket roundlip bases, perhaps by Tabletop Art or Micro Art Studio.
Morrs Garden and Aegis Line
Morrs Garden and some parts of the Aegis Line / Bastions were still in sprues, as i found them.
I like the Morrs Garden kit, as it does not only fit into Warhammer Fantasy, but might be used for any Dark Fantasy or even Pulp settings. Do you remember the scene in Return to Castle Wolfenstein, when you fought Heinrich I at the cemetery? Let's take a look.
HdR Szenario 2015
Hackenheim welcomed wargamers from friday to sunday for the Lord of the Rings Scenario 2015.
The whole weekend, that covered among others a tournament for X-Wing and Warmachine, you had the chance to try out several wargames from the fictional and historic genres.
Merry Christmas
Back for a last update before christmas.
I continued on building tanks, after converting the Shermans. So i got my hands on a Panther Ausf. A from Rubicon Models and a SdKfz 234 Puma from Warlord Games. I filled the large turret hole in the chassis with a renedra base and some putty. So what is the final product? It's a Aufklärungspanther, a fictional build that is known among others from World of Tanks. I have to be honest, the Ausf. A wasn't the best base for the conversion, if you want to do it, i'd suggest the Ausf. G.
The Worlds Aftermath
Where do we beginn? Let's do a sum up.
The Worlds Weekend was great. Chapeau! to the traders that participated and offered their goods for nice prices. I took the chance got myself some treats. Ainsty Castings Resin parts, a few Lord of the Rings blisters (what for? you will see...), Saga Dice, the new Saga Crescent & Cross Rules and the nice ruler from the Worlds Saga Tournament. Bäm! Oh and i got the Leopard 2A6 from Empress Miniatures at the Worlds!
Roundhouse paint
On Tuesday there was a live-ticker on Brueckenkopf, for which i gathered a couple of running projects to continue. A short overview, what we are talking about. A uber-large Woman sculpted by Werner Klocke for Reaper, a paint in progress Hetzer, the White Dead from Warlord Games and two survivors from Hasslefree.
Low Level Piracy
The tanks are organized? Check. So what next? Opening up some goodies that came in the post the last days.
What's first? Well Four A Miniatures delivered, i ordered Creature from the Black Lagoon and ALF. Casting looks good, everything went quick. /me happy.
Of Anglosaxons and Pirates
As promised, the next update! I will show you some pictures of an upcoming article about SAGA. In this case my own warband of Anglo Saxons. Consisting of Musketeer Miniatures (pewter) and Gripping Beasts (plastics).
Rowdd 2013, Pegasus Bridge and SAGA
Last Weekend I was in Thuringia, at Radaddels Wide Open Door Day. It was a fun weekend, again tabletop loaded. But this time not only as a customer / visitor. I held a seminar on the status quo of wargaming in Germany, and helped out Mantic and Warlord Games doing an Q&A. And i did some shopping, i stocked up on Freebooters Fate.
3. Quarter of 2013
The weekend is close and the third quartal '13 started. Unfortunately no new color, but a few novelties and some finally built inherid burdens.
I ordered some Artizan Design some figurines via Miniaturicum. Nice additions for Legends of the Old West and Bolt Action. Along with some Gladiators from Crusader Miniatures, those aren't that great. Casting is okay, but the sculpting is average at best.
