Bolt Action Tanks
As i am browsing through the boxes of my collection while cleaning and sorting out what i want to sell, i stumble upon half-assembled kits and / or things that i misplaced - but totally happy about finding them again. So i used some of the spare time in the last few weeks to - at least - assemble some of the kits.
Many of those are tanks or armoured vehicles from world war I, interwar or world war II peroids. And you really notice if you have a newer or older kit on your hands. That Ferdinand for example is one great cast and really detailled, no comparison to the BA-6 in the other picture. Both from Warlord Games.
Bolt Action Spanish Civil War Carlists
A little update upon the Spanish troops for Bolt Action. If you follow the blog and read some of the older posts, i have chosen a Carlist Army (who historically sided with the nationalists within the spanish civil war). The Carlists are radical catholics, and the idea this army is a small force from northern Spain, that collected and rescued relics. Most miniatures are from Empress Miniatures, with some inquisition miniatures added from Victoria Miniatures. Why? Because nobody expects the spanish inquisition! The spaniards will be played by the "Armies of Germany" Book. The carlists will most likely be early war Waffen-SS, due to the fanatics rule. They are supported by 2 squads of Guardia Civil (mixed quality Volksgrenadiers), a squad of spanish soldiers with german equipment (Heer Infantry), as well as 2 squads of morrocan mercenaries (uncertain if Osttruppen or Volksgrenadiers). Of course a small tank pool may not be missed. So i got them a Hispano Suiza MC-36 (by Minairon Miniatures), and a Panzer II as well as a BA-6 AC by Warlord Games.
As the miniatures lack certain weapon options, i had to be creative and added SMGs to these two miniatures by Empress Miniatures.
Back to the Underhive – Part 1
While re-arranging the shelfes, i freed up a second one for my Inq28 / Necromunda / Inquimunda Collection. So i decided to proceed doing inventory and basing some of my collection. Therefore i needed to restock on bases.
My Dark Eldar Warband is based on some Voodoo Worx Alien bases, that range was sold to Secret Weapon, so i had to buy them in the states. Fun fact, they arrived at the same time as the Dark Art Bases below, ordered in the UK.
Morrs Garden and Aegis Line
Morrs Garden and some parts of the Aegis Line / Bastions were still in sprues, as i found them.
I like the Morrs Garden kit, as it does not only fit into Warhammer Fantasy, but might be used for any Dark Fantasy or even Pulp settings. Do you remember the scene in Return to Castle Wolfenstein, when you fought Heinrich I at the cemetery? Let's take a look.
Chaosbunker clearing up
Why has it been so silent in the last weeks? We had some holidays and prolonged weekends in Germany, and i used the time to tidy up my workroom a.k.a. the chaosbunkers home office.
The first pro longed weekend, it was really motivating. You could really see the progress. Sorting out some boxes, combining the contents of three boxes into a single one etc. Cleaning sprues, throwing away the empty plastic sprues. And the result of the first weekends work was this.
WT auf Pz IV
An update on the modified Panzer IV from Warlord Games. The second World of Tanks vehicle, that i brought into 1:56, is the Waffenträger auf Panzer IV. Based upon the new plastic kit and a PaK 40, i added plastic card, a few bitz and green stuff, to fit my needs.
The gun shield of the PaK 40 is to small, as well as the gun just doesn't look like right. So i scratchbuilt a larger gun shield along with something that looks closer to a PaK 44 / 12,8 cm.
WT auf Pz IV, Banner and Conventions
Weekend Update with Seth Meyers ... erm, no. But Weekend Update is right. Busy weekend.
This weekend was the HdR Szenario, a small convention in the Pfalz. Its held at a Inn outside of a small town and used to be on a castle, the Kauzenburg. So a couple of gaming tables, workshops and a few traders. Quite a nice convention.
Panzers and Crusader
This update is lurking around since last sunday, pictures taken but no text. So sorry for the delay. I was busy building tanks and armoured vehicles last weekend. I prepared the latest kits from Warlord Games for Bolt Action, the new Panzer IV Ausf. F1/G/H and the SdKfz 234/2 Puma.
The Panzer IV is a great kit, improved a lot compared for example with the Sherman. I took the chance and build the DERP Tier 5 from World of Tanks Version, Panzer IV Ausf. H with 10,5 cm KwK L28. Fear my HE-Shells! I modified the Sideskirts, a bit tricky but i think worth the time.
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! Frohes Neues! Feliz Año Nuevo!
It is the first of January, and welcome to 2015. I have a few good resolutions for this year, in first line more painting and gaming. Starting next weekend at the HdR Szenario near Bad Kreuznach.
So what's next at the 'bunker? Well, i bought some Matchbox vehicles. I saw them in different army projects, among others in the Bolt Action Facebook Group and Stoessi Bolt Action Army. I was irritated, because i would have thought the scale would be off, but it works great, as you can see with the Warlord Games Jeeps and a Perry Kübelwagen. What can i say? I was happy and i bought a set of 6 jeeps for just 15 euros. I'll buy some Kübelwagen next.
Merry Christmas
Back for a last update before christmas.
I continued on building tanks, after converting the Shermans. So i got my hands on a Panther Ausf. A from Rubicon Models and a SdKfz 234 Puma from Warlord Games. I filled the large turret hole in the chassis with a renedra base and some putty. So what is the final product? It's a Aufklärungspanther, a fictional build that is known among others from World of Tanks. I have to be honest, the Ausf. A wasn't the best base for the conversion, if you want to do it, i'd suggest the Ausf. G.
