Sherman, Sherman, Sherman

Welcome to december. I got back to the desk at the weekend. My model trees from china arrived (9 bags with ~ 10 trees each, 28 euro incl. shipping) and the matching Renedra Bases from Fantasyladen.

As i didn't want the trees to be exposed from the tabletop, i used the flat bases. The trees have to be coated with hairspray, so they don't loose that much foliage during handling. The second, a bit noisy, picture was a fast snap from my mobile phone, to show the scale with 28mm miniatures.

Tanks and Books

A small update, i used the current week to build a few tanks that arrived at the 'bunker. I bought the Alex Drawer Unit from Ikea a few weeks ago, perfect storage for miniatures. I got a drawer on its own just for vehicles. Quite a collection i gathered in the meantime for my american, british and german armies.

Scratchbuild Sunday

I promised further progress on my Anglo-Saxons, and so i did. First of all, a little thing i like to share. I mark the bases underneath with numbers and letters, to keep track of the squads / troops organisation. This is something, i find usefull especially with for example crew members, so can keep them together if they are seperately based.

And i did some scratchbuilding on the Lokomotiv. The roof is done and i am not sure about the funnel, but i prefer the red one. Those are caps from medical supplies a friend of mine gave to me. Quite easy and fast solution for funnels, exhausts etc.

P-P-P-P-Plastic!

Clipping parts from sprues, getting rid of mold lines and assembling them. Busy, busy. I built the Universal Carrier and the Panther Ausf G from Warlord Games yesterday for upcoming reviews, along with the Warzone Starter of the Brotherhood.

SCW and Survivors

I had to take a longer break, as my health forced me to re-arrange my plans of the last weeks.

The work on Bolt Action continued and i pursued the concept of my spanish civil war army for early war. I converted the acw zuaves from the perry twins into moroccan mercenaries for my spaniards. Just some weapon conversions missing.

Long Weekend Ahead

Was there really no update since the 1st May? It's about time for a new post then. A few packages arrived and i'd like to share with you, what i got and what interesting things are available.

Let's start with some hobby products, colours. I got myself some primers from Vallejo for the Bolt Action stuff. The us vehicles may get excited about the olive drab. And all of the tanks will be happy about AK Interactive, along with the black paint set, not just for the tank crews, very usefull for Infinity Templars etc. as well. There will be more coverage on those upcoming.

Roundhouse paint

On Tuesday there was a live-ticker on Brueckenkopf, for which i gathered a couple of running projects to continue. A short overview, what we are talking about. A uber-large Woman sculpted by Werner Klocke for Reaper, a paint in progress Hetzer, the White Dead from Warlord Games and two survivors from Hasslefree.

Easter, Short Holidays and Events

Easter is coming, and i have a short break from work for a couple of days. I started painting the Imperial Knight, as a Freeblade. I did a review on this kit, the Imperial Knight, and while painting it I am still bummed out about the Decal "fraud".

I kept most of the parts unglued, for easier painting. All parts were primed Black, and the armour parts were given a nice primer with Bolt Action German Fieldgrey, a very greenish grey. The metal parts got heavily drybrushed with metal from AP, but will get another go to really bring out the shiny color. As a contrast to the green, i choosed a bronze /brown-gold color for the armour trims. I'll keep working on this model in the next few days.
