Rubicon Models – Tiger II with Zimmerit

This is going to be the third time that I'm doing a review on a King Tiger, but this time it is the one by Rubicon Models.

Rubicon Models - Tiger II with Zimmerit Rubicon Models - Tiger II with Zimmerit

I've had the older resin kit by Warlord Games with the Henschel turret on here, as well as the Italeri / Warlord Games plastic kit of the King Tiger with Zimmerit, so I'm quite curious where the Rubicon kit stands in comparison.

Adeptus Titanicus – Warmaster Titan with Plasma Destructors

Move to the side Warlord Titans, there is a new, heavier battle titan around - the Warmaster Titan! The new class of titans for Adeptus Titanicus was announced in the online preview in late January of this year, and now finally available.

Adeptus Titanicus - Warmaster Titan with Plasma Destructors

So far, the Warlord marked the heaviest of the available battle titans for the game, and was only outclassed by the even larger Emperor Class Titan, which was covered in the lore but not released for the more recent iterations of Epic nor Adeptus Titanicus. The Warmaster is a new addition to the lore of Warhammer 40.000 (or 30.000 / Horus Heresy) and is based upon old artwork by Jes Goodwin. Back in the day, this was "just" an early sketch of a Warlord Titan, but with a different design than the "beetle back" models. But as there were multiple designs and variants of the titans, in a rather "fluid" state of lore, this is the perfect base for a new class of titan. The Warmaster picked up quite a lot of the design elements, but more on that below.

Bolt Action Campaign Mariana & Palau Islands

A bit of catching up to do. While Bolt Action returns to D-Day with the current and next campaign supplement, we have to catch up and revisit the pacific with Bolt Action Campaign Mariana & Palau Islands.

Bolt Action - Campaign Mariana & Palau Islands Bolt Action - Campaign Mariana & Palau Islands

For those of you, not familiar with the pacific campaign, a brief intro on the campaign might come in handy. We have had releases covering the (South) East Asian conflict for Bolt Action with Empires in Flames and New Guinea. And with Mariana & Palau, the US Forces, especially the Marines are moved into focus, in their battles against the Japanese. At 160 pages it doesn't set a new record in thickness, but is still broad and covering a lot of ground for the campaign. Pricing stays with the usual price band of 20 GBP or 30 USD (about 25 EUR). And as often with the Bolt Action / Osprey books, we had an early cover (left) and a changed final cover of the supplement (right), replacing the US Marine with an IJA soldier.

Renedra – Middle Eastern Two-Storey Houses

We've talked about the Mud-Brick house by Renedra earlier this month, and they added multiple two-storey houses to that design. Those are available in three different sizes and come either as single kits or a boxed set with all three of them. I went with the large set of middle eastern buildings, so let's get started.

These come either in a large bag for the single houses or in a cardboard box as a set. The packaging is full coloured and covers scenes of them in use, on the backside the individual sets as well as the Mud-brick house is named. Pricing is reasonable, 8 to 10 GBP (depending on the size) for the single houses and 22 GBP for the set of three. You already save 5 GBP with the boxed set.

Renedra – Mudbrick House

This review about the Mud-Brick House by Renedra, that I thought I already published (you could see it in my review on the sandbags), got lost somewhere in the past. I wanted to refer it in the upcoming review on the two-storey houses, but after not finding the review I realized, that I took the pictures, edited them and so on, but never wrote the actual article. Anyhow, I think it still generates value to talk about this kit, especially with a further terrain sets by Renedra, picking up the middle eastern theme.

Frostgrave Ghost Archipelago – Tribals

After covering the Crewmen, the next Frostgrave Ghost Archipelago kit are the tribals we're going to cover. Besides the very obvious temperatures and climate as a difference, in Ghost Archipelago the crew follows a heritor instead of a wizard, and these tribals can be used either as allies or enemies of those treasure seekers.

Frostgrave Ghost Archipelago - Tribals Frostgrave Ghost Archipelago - Tribals

The tribals are a generic plastic kit, catching the idea of tribes, native to the jungles of the Lost Isles and isolated from the known world. They are heavily influenced by different cultures from our world, like the Polynesian Samoans or Maori, with some North American and African influences as well.

Adeptus Titanicus – Mechanicum Questoris Knights Styrix and Magaera

Towards the end of the year we see a new release of Mechanicum Knights by Forge World. Along the regular Questoris Knights (and later upgraded kit) two new classes enter the epic sized battlefield of the Horus Heresy - the Questoris Knights Styrix and Questoris Knights Magaera.

Adeptus Titanicus - Mechanicum Questoris Knights Styrix and Magaera

These being Forge World releases, this means a few differences towards the regular Adeptus Titanicus range. Most present is the direct only availability, as Forge World is only sold through Forge World themself or at Games Workshop events (and at Warhammer World). But they overhauled their shipping costs, making availability through their online shop quite a bit more affordable. And the second difference compared to Games Workshops main range they are cast from resin and not injection mould plastic or finecast. But more on that further below.

Munchkin Warhammer Age of Sigmar Death & Destruction

This summer I've covered the Warhammer Age of Sigmar variant of Munchkin, and now we have the first supplement that was released in both English and German - Death & Destruction, introducing the Flesheater Court and Ironjaws to the game. The English version of the game is released by Steve Jackson Games with the localised version available through Pegasus Spiele.

Necromunda – Zone Mortalis Platforms and Stairs

To finalize the review series on the Zone Mortalis, after covering the Columns and Walls as well as the Gang Stronghold, we look closer into the accessoires set - Platforms and Stairs.

Necromunda - Zone Mortalis Platforms and Stairs

With spicy price tag of 50 EUR it is important to know what it brings to the table, literally. We have two different sprues, each two times included in this set. It is important to note, that this is barely a stand-alone and it requires at least the Columns and Walls kit to make the most out of it.

Necromunda – Zone Mortalis Gang Stronghold

The most recent addition to the Zone Mortalis, is the Necromunda Gang Stronghold. Quite the boxed set for the Underhive, giving your gang a spot to hide out, defend and retreat to.

Necromunda - Zone Mortalis Gang Stronghold

But this is not just a repurposed set of sprues from the Zone Mortalis, but a whole new set of sprues and parts to add to your Zone Mortalis. And not just walls and platforms either at 70 EUR, but two towers (a lookout tower and a water tank) as well.
