Frostgrave: A Sword and Sorcery Adventure – Part 3
My little Sword and Sorcery project is going into the next round with a bit more routine from today on. In the coming weeks updates will always happen on a Frosty Friday (if there are any).
In this article I would like to introduce the puppy of the bunch. In terms of game mechanics, the combat dog is an excellent gap-filler when you start with a warband, where you want to spend your entire budget at the beginning of your campaign, as he only costs a measly 10 gold.
Collecting a few ideas on Rohan houses
A bird never flew on one wing, and that's the reason why a single house is not enough for a proper settlement - even a small one. As stated in one of the weekend updates, I added a few further house kits to the stock, to be able to tinker a bit.
Lord of the Rings – Rohan Watchtower & Palisade
The Rohan House wasn't released by it self, but came with a second Rohan terrain kit, the Watchtower and Palisades.
Lord of the Rings – Rohan House
Games Workshop released towards the end of 2019, along with an update for the Middle Earth game system, two new terrain kits for Rohan, a house and a combination of walls and a tower. We'll look into the house today.
Lord of the Rings, Cruel Seas and Light Upgrade
The Rohan reviews for next week are ready, I had the time to tinker on these kit and prepare some scale pictures. Very interesting kits, beyond the fantasy setting. But more on that later.
Journey of the Maulers: And suddenly…20 years later
WOW, I can't believe it! After twenty years and a total of four attempts, I have finally finished painting up the team. On the one hand there is a certain feeling of satisfaction to have finally completed a project, on the other hand it still seems totally surreal to me that this step on the Maulers' journey is done after such a long time. Especially when you look at the old and the new version side by side, it shows that the decision to do a repaint was worth it.

Journey of the Maulers – A veteran for the team
Ever since I built the team, it was clear to me that one player should have the role of a leader. A personality that keeps the team on the right track and motivates it, just like real teams have in the form of a team captain.
Weekend Update and January White Dwarf
My vacation is over, work has me back, so the overall output was a bit more relaxed compared to the week before. Last year, when the Rohan buildings were released, I was in touch with Games Workshop, so that I could a larger review on the new buildings. Unfortunately the Stronghold sold out unexpectedly quick and it took a bit of time to find an alternative. Long story short, in addition to the single Rohan House and Palisade & Watchtower kit, a batch of houses arrived from Radaddel. Thanks to both of them, now I can get started.
Because that was the reason, I didn't already do the review. I wanted to cover as much of that multi-purpose awesomeness that I think this kit is. And that will probably take the most time to handle the input and agree in my mind, what I am gonna build from the pieces.
Journey of the Maulers – Small progress, big impact
Fiiiiinally! The last blackorc of the team is painted and even if it's just another mini, to me this is a big step forward! The blackorc squad is now complete and the point where I failed in my first attempt to paint up the team has been overcome.

Kick-Off 2020
As promissed, instead of closing the year with a summary, I want to look ahead into 2020 with a proper Kick-Off.
I could begin with the usual new years resolution, setting unrealistic goals like not buying any new miniatures before the others are painted and such. But I want to focus on activities that are fun, that are pro-active. And as such, I want to have a good time in 2020. The goal is not necessarily to have a better time, but to keep on having a good time with(in) my hobby. As pictures speak more than words, more of this:
