HANS! Get the hand truck!

In May I participated in the latest "Stuffbox" from the Sweetwater Community, the one from TabletopWelt got lost by Hermes - great job guys! But a new box was packed and went on its way. And with an eye on the tracking I knew HANS! would arrive today. A brief ring on the door bell and a small lipped good morning by the postman confirmed that and the heavy load of the content.

Printed Terrain, Age of Sails and Legos

A package arrived with a couple of 6mm Adeptus Titanicus terrain, that was 3d printed in grey PLA. After I had a few ruins printed for base decoration, I found further files on thingiverse and Florian was kind enough to put them on his Ender.

Back from Swabia with Cars, Beers and Torpedo Boats

It was a bit quiet the last week, for multiple reasons. I was a bit under the weather and hope to be at full health soon, and we visited part of my wife's family in Southern Germany for the prolonged weekend (you know, German Unification, David Hasselhoff Memorial Day and so on).

Last weekend Daniel came by, we took a couple of pictures for the upcoming article and played a round of Cruel Seas. Something that I actually did multiple times this week and will cover in a seperate article. Fun, with some room for tweaks, but still very entertaining.

Cruel Seas M-Class Minesweeper

After the decision fell towards the Flower Class Corvette as the large ship of the Royal Navy fleet, I was looking for a fitting counterpart for the German Kriegsmarine. My choice went towards the German M-Class Minesweeper.

Crues Seas - M-Class Minesweeper

The Minesweeper was in competition with the Marinefährprahm (basically a landing ship) and the Vorpostenboot. The landing ship would be something to keep in mind, if I wanted to extend the Operation Sealion / Gigant towards Cruel Seas. The Vorpostenboot is an armed civil ship, similar to the armed trawler of the British and looked a bit to improvised to counter the proud British Corvette. So the decision was clear, it must be the Minesweeper, Minensuchboot M1940.

Pizza Rolls, Lego Trucks and the Weekend

Long time, no cooking on here. But a chance to fix that! To take care of my colleagues in the office on my birthday, I made some pizza rolls as Finger food.

Pizza Rolls

You can make your own ingredients or buy one of the pizza kits (those where the dough and sauce is included). I pre-mix the filling, and believe me, you need less amount than you would expect. You get along with with around half or 2/3rd of the tomato sauce, get a good hand full of shredded cheese and thinly sliced pepperoni in there and mix thoroughly.

Cruel Seas British Flower Class Corvette

In extension to the fleets of the Strike Fast! Strike Hard! starter kit I chose a large vessel for both sides. For the British that was the British Flower Class Corvette.

Among the large British ships would have been a Landing Craft Gun or the armed trawler. The landing craft looked more like something for the pacific and the armed trawler was a bit too close to the merchant tanker, and this is a Corvette, a Corvette! So the choice was pretty clear.

Cruel Seas Merchant Tanker

The Merchant Tanker is one of the firsts vessels that were available for Cruel Seas and has a cardboard stand in included with the Strike Fast! Strike Hard! starter kit.

As a "neutral" ship that could be found in service of every nation this kit bears the potential to be part of most scenarios, either as a mission objective to defend / attack or for example to claim its cargo. Merchant tankers had the objective to ferry supplies such as food, fuel, steel, clothing or munitions and weaponry.

Games n Dice Historical Demo Day 2019

As Gregor is sharing the images from their Longstreet battles and going for quite some length to do research on his regiments, it was about time, to give this ACW rule set a try. Therefore he invited me to join them on their Games n Dice Demo day on historical tabletop systems to Düsseldorf.

The date was yesterdays saturday, and as traveling so early in the morning is quite free of traffic and stress, I was a bit early and had time to take a couple of pictures before hand of the store Drachental.
