A visit to … Fantasy-Spiele Würzburg e.V.
Last year, Dino started to combine his business trips with visits to tabletop clubs. We covered our visits in Bedburg and Aachen, and now with me attending a summit in Würzburg, I did the same and got in touch with the local gaming club, Fantasy-Spiele Würzburg e.V.
Fantasy-Spiele Würzburg is not just a wargaming club, but they do board games, pen & paper and trading card games as well and quite a lot, as every week is quite busy and offers a lot for the about 180 (!) members of the club. But more on that below.
Where is Würzburg and what do I need to about this city? Würzburg is a German city in the region of Franconia in the northern part of Bavaria. It is roughly in the middle between Frankfurt and Nuremberg (about an hour from each city). As a Franconian city you may choose your poison from hearty dishes, various beers and wine, everything not that far from eachother in the city with a population of 120,000.
Adeptus Titanicus – Campaign Compendium
After the latest addition to the game, including Gravation Beamer weaponry for various titan classes, a "new" book is up for pre-order - the Adeptus Titanicus Campaign Compendium.
A quick heads up. This is a book review. We don't do meta-discussion on Chaosbunker. We will cover what is covered in the campaign supplement and what is not. Games Workshop offers this proper 224-page hardcover for 50 EURs with the following description.
Warhammer 40,000 – Blood Angels Commander Dante
Along with the Lion, and briefly after Azrael, another classic Warhammer hero returns Commander Dante.
He is the second of the major Blood Angels characters to cross the Rubicon Primaris after Mephiston, the Chief Librarian.
The box is available for pre-order since today, April 15th, at a RRP of 35 EUR and will be delivered a week after.
Warhammer 40,000 – Dark Angels The Lion & Retinue Lion El’Jonson
The Lion Returns! After Roboute Guilliman, the next of the loyal sons of the Emperor returns to the 41st millennium.
Similar to the themed initial release of Guilliman (Triumvirate of the Primarch, with the Lord of Ultramar accompanied by Cypher and Grand Master Voldus), Lion El'Jonson doesn't arrive alone but with a retinue of three Bladeguard Veterans.
The box is available for pre-order since today, April 15th, at a RRP of 85 EUR and will be delivered a week after.
Terrain Basics – A Desert Table
As mentioned in the recap, I got my hands on some Gale Force 9 - Battlefield in a Box badlands scenery. I saw them at Frontline Games on Tactica, but I ordered them after the show, so I would have less to carry.
The Battlefield in a Box items come prepainted and are quite sturdy, so a perfect base to build a table around / upon. They are produced by Gale Force 9 (who got bought by Battlefront - the company behind Flames of War - a while back) and a distributed from New Zealand, but availability has improved a lot.

Chaosbunker – Hobbypaints
APRILFOOLS
A full 48 colours covering paint range (that will be further expanded to cover the whole Pantone Formula Guide). Because if everybody offers relabelled paint pots, why shouldn't we? And the best part - it is not even crowdfunded. Yet, every batch is hand mixed by the painting baristas, so each and every pot is unique and may vary a bit from the last one.
Adeptus Titanicus – Legio Astraman Ad Arma Pt. VIII
Among the aftermath of the Battle for Uulda I decided to stock up on some further items for Adeptus Titanicus, primarely the two Legio books for the Loyalists and Traitors.
And as these are english publications, they are excluded from the fixed book prices of German publications, so I could save some bucks from ordering these online. As I have quite the extended collection of wargaming books, I think it is a very lazy design to not keep an eye on the backs of the books. The logo is wandering, the titles are as well. With a series that aims for collectors and more mature gamers (along with covering quite a few books) it is a major bummer they didn't pay attention to this. Honestly, with the pricing and all, I expect better.

The Painting Phase is a hobby podcast/vlog that was joined last year by Chris "Peachy" Peach, when he left Games Workshop.
HarrowHyrst – Forest Wyrm
In addition to the Treeman and Griffin, I just had to have the Forest Wyrm when Trish announced it. He has a name, Quercus, and is called either Forest Dragon or Wyrm. Yet, per definition of "dragonoids", he would count as a Drake (four legs, no wings), not a Dragon (four legs and two wings) or a Wyrm (giant serpent, no legs, no wings).
Quercus is a multipart resin kit with a 100 x 50 mm laser cut mdf base. Very clean cast, various casting aids from little stubs to rods, but no air bubbles and minor flash.
Quercus consists out of four parts, Head, front legs, body with right leg and tail with left leg. The casting aids are well placed, so that you can remove them without causing damage to the model or sculpted areas.
